The front desk officer, Lutfi greeted me with a warm and friendly smile when I stepped into Malyabhara Hotel late for check-in on 9 Feb 2025. ||His asssitance in ensuring that I've got my request for a room with clear view of the street and Mt Merapi (of course with an additional pay which was affordable) was well assisted. ||The first room(316) had very limited view of the street (faced wall and very little view of the street on the right side) and upon my requst for a change, he attended promptly, checked on me to ensure that all is okay and I really appreciated with the change of room (510) with the views that I like. ||Love the comfy bed and pillows which are soft and the room was cleaned everyday throughout my 5d4n stay which welcomes me with much happiness after returning from long travelling journey to many places of interests. ||Though the toilet is rather small, but it is well maintained and the water pressure was good. Hope that the televison will be upgraded to smart tv in the future. The varieties of breakfast food choices was good with different choices of both local and western.||And of course, selected this hotel because of it's location - right in front of Jalan Malioboro! You can definitely count your steps from hotel lobby to the street! So convenient and easy access to everything (especially shopping lah). A good location |too for me to travel out to explore Jogja eg to Menoreh, Borobudur, Magelang,Gunung Kidul beaches, Kaliurang etc. ||Overall, a nice and comfortable hotel to stay in at Jalan Malioboro. Matur suwon (terima kasih/thank you)...

I recently stayed at Malyabhara Hotel Jogja and had a mixed experience. While the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, I encountered a rude receptionist who underestimated me based on my appearance.
Upon approaching the receptionist, I was taken aback by his direct and impolite question, "Mau ngapain?" (What are you doing?). I replied that I wanted to check-in, and he responded in a rude tone, "our hotel is full." I informed him that I had already made a booking, to which he finally apologized for the misunderstanding. It would have been more appropriate for him to ask politely or confirm my reservation in a courteous manner.
On the positive side, the hotel was clean and so was my room. I appreciated the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities. Additionally, the location of the hotel was very strategic, offering easy access to various attractions and amenities in Jogja.
Overall, my experience at Malyabhara Hotel Jogja was a mix of both positive and negative aspects. While the cleanliness and location were commendable, the rude behavior of the receptionist left a negative impression. I hope the hotel management takes steps to improve their customer service and ensure a more welcoming and respectful environment...
