First of all I have to say that from the moment the booking was done , the Communication from and with the hosts Massimiliano ( Max ) and Tiziana was always good, even during our stay.||Max was helpful with booking our Taxi from and to the airport, was also helpful with us booking some excursions ( like the Etna ) he took the time to call the company and respond to all the questions we had.||Something about the rooms and Location: Our rooms were quite spacious and clean, day in day out there was a change of laundry and bedding, which always smelled so fresh and clean like the room did. Comfy beds and extra pillows provided. Bathroom was comfortable and had everything. Great wifi connection. The only downside of the room was the Tv which only had 4 Italian channels and the connection was bad that basically made the tv just a decorative item in the room. one other thing was the wardrobe didn’t have any shelves in it so one cannot unpack things from the luggage. If you are someone who cannot carry luggages up the stairs better ask the hosts if they can help. ||The Location is an Amazing one centrally located, Basically few steps away from Piazza Duomo . You are always few minutes away from great Cafés and some really good Restaurants, it’s also few corners away from the fish market and from a very Hip area in Catania ( under the colorful umbrellas ) full of bars and restaurants which you can enjoy an Aperitivo or Cocktail with friends. ||All in all The Al Duomo Inn was basically a...
Read moreExceptional stay at Al Duomo in February. Me and my two young daughters stayed in their three bed family room. The owner, Massilmiliano, arrange for an airport transfer and met us at the B&B. Lovely warm welcome, extremely kind and helpful. Gave us plenty of information and booked us trips too. Felt very warm and welcome and I must say the space at the B&B is very clean and cosy. We had a small balcony on our room and big heavy window shutters to block out the morning light and road sounds. We were given his telephone number for any questions or issues and asked to stay in contact. His communications were fantastic and his english is extremely good. Rooms cleaned every day. Breakfast was lovely, but the breakfast room can be a bit chilly. We were even given a few special breakfast requests as a treat (my seven year old loves pizza, so why not eh?). Breakfast times and arrangements made via whatsapp to suit us and even set up in our room one morning, which my girls thought was an amazing treat. Return transfer to hotel organised for us too, with no fuss and many kind words exchanged. One of my favourite stays ever and I would strongly recommend anyone reserve this special little place for some warmth and comfort. You will be well...
Read moreI loved my stay at Al Duomo Inn! This B&B is family owned and run by siblings from Catania. I felt like I was visiting with family (in a good way ; ). The owners, a brother and sister team, were so caring in providing everything I needed. They had great recommendations for dining, shopping, sites, ect. I prefer the authentic design of the building and accommodations, which included 1 flight of interior stairs and some street noise from the outside. That being said, Max (the owner) carried my bags both on arrival and departure and the two sets of French doors to the balcony shut out the noise almost completely. The room was equipped with modern conveniences including wifi, a/c, mini fridge and TV. From my balcony was a view of Catania center's beautiful Dome and St Agatha's Cathedral. Right around the corner is the fish market and adjoining local restaurants that get their seafood fresh daily. Crazy Delicious!! There are also local street venders selling fresh fruit, cheese, meat and other locally sourced products, which I always look for when I travel. This B&B is a very good value for the money; great location, warm and responsive hosts, clean room with modern amenities. I highly recommend...
