I did not hesitate when i gave the B&B the highest recommendation, something I never done before. EMANUEL is the owner and Manager of the facility and even if it was only him it would be enough to rank the B&B that high. In fact there is much more about my visit in the facility. First the location is perfect. 8 minutes from the Duomo and another 8 to the train and bus station makes visiting nearby attractions like Taormina and Siracusa easy and convenient. The airport bus stops 30 meters from the doorsteps. Emanuel will give you the best directions, recommendations for restaurants and arrange any trip you need. For me he arranged the trip to Etna with a nice guide and I even got an incredible lunch in the vulcanos park at a hidden little farm belongs to the guide family. The rooms are above average, very clean and roomy. The breakfast includes everything you need to start your day on the right side. Start Your walk at the Duomo square. Continue to the nearby fish market. Don't miss the Shirocco, a little eating place that serves fresh seafood in ridiculously low prices. From there cross the marvelous old quarters up to your next attraction, the Orsino castle. If you like renaissance art, take a tour in the museum inside. Some of the greatest painters from the era exhibited in it's impressive halls, followed with effective digital guiding system. From there you might continue to the Benedictine monastery, second biggest in Europe. If you still left energy, you might finish in Villa Bellini, 9 minutes of walk from there. Back to the B&B will complete a 9 km tour. For me it was one of the best I had ever. Don't forget that Taormina and Siracusa is...
Read moreWe stayed at this lovely b&b last November in Catania for 3 days.It is situated in a good location close to the Central train station(about a 15-20 minute walk)and close to the Piazza del duomo as well as the Catania cathedral( 7-10 minute walk) B&B is off a square and in an old palace Art Nouveau 19th century building. It is on the 1st floor and there is also an elevator.B&B is clean and has a charming decor with an amazing terrace filled with plants and flowers.Room was a good size and had comfortable bedding. A kettle, tea and coffee were provided and a free mini bar fridge stocked with water and other items.Continental buffet breakfast is provided. They also served some delicious omelettes when we were there. On the buffet we had some of the best Sicilian olives we ever had and pepperoncino..We ate breakfast out on the terrace as the weather was warm and sunny. Our hosts Giuseppe and Emanuele served us and were kind and friendly to us. They informed us on all the best places to see and restaurants to go to.A big thank you to both! |Catania is an amazing place filled with Baroque buildings and incredible history. We visited the Catania cathedral in the main square and Catania fish market. Read moreI'm always a bit skeptical of #1 ranked properties but in this case I can unequivocally state that it absolutely deserves it. We had a split-level, 75 square meter 2-bedroom apartment which was perfect for a family of 4 and there was a glorious breakfast also included for an overall very reasonable price. Put simply, top-quality, decent-value accommodation. The owner, Emanuele, makes a special effort to meet you in person which was greatly appreciated and so much better than our previous apartment in Edinburgh where we never saw or even had direct email/Whatsapp direct contact with the owner or property manager! Overall, an absolute class act in a superbly atmospheric square (Piazza Cutelli), only 8-10 mins walk from Catania Old Town centre and the main bus & railway station (very important for day trips to key, must-see destinations like Mount Etna, Taormina & Syracuse). Special mention to Guiseppe and the breakfast team who fulfilled all our requests and needs in a delightfully friendly, polite, and totally professional manner. Would strongly recommend this memorable...
