Le Suites del Duca di Sarro — Hotel in Catania

Centrally located Suite apartment. First, the good. LOCATION. This apartment has an excellent and accessible location. Right on the main Catania street, Via Etnea, this apartment could not be better situated. The main sights are literally steps away downhill. There is a Lidl for resupplying essentials, just around the corner ,10 minutes away. There is also a major bus stop ( fermatta) steps away from the building entrance. So location, location, location is it!!! NEXT... The SHOWER was amazing. The strength of a shower is critical to me. This did not disappoint. One of the best showers ever!!!!!👌👌👌 INTERNET worked well. TV worked well, although only local, non cable stations were available. Kitchen had everything needed. Bathroom was ok. Washer and dryer on site. Detergent also on site. SAFETY. I think the multiple doors needed to access the apartment was a bit over the top ( count them--- 4!!!!!! ) , I felt safe and I think a single woman would feel safe as well staying here. COMMUNICATION with the host was mainly good. I did not receive any response for one message sent regarding accessing ALIBUS availabilty on Sunday for the airport 🙃. ( See my Alibus review). Now for the NOT SO GOOD. First...THE NOISE. The apartment is directly over a major street, one flight up. There is constant street noise from traffic and late night people. Earplugs are generously supplied . I had no problems with the noise, but light sleepers might want to rethink staying here. Second . HANDICAPPED ♿️ INDIVIDUALS WOULD DEFINITELY NOT WANT TO STAY HERE. Although there is an elevator 🛗, it was never working, and I believe it hasn't worked for quite a while. Even though the apartments are only 1 flight ( approximately 30 steps ) up, those with limited mobility would find the accessibility ♿️ situation, daunting at best. The CLEANING. While relatively clean, the floors were dirty, and I felt cleaning could have been better. Not bad , just better for the price paid. All in all decent . Final take, recommended with the caveats...

L’appartamento è bello, un po’ démodé per alcuni arredamenti antichi o in stile forzatamente vintage. Purtroppo però il punteggio viene azzerato dalle docce sporche e con la muffa e senza neanche una mensola per i saponi. È presente una sauna, a mio avviso inutile per la città di Catania, non siamo a Helsinki. Presenti anche lavatrice e asciugatrice ma con due flaconi di detersivo e...

Il soggiorno è stato davvero piacevole e confortevole. L’appartamento appartiene ad un palazzo storico che rende l’atmosfera unica e singolare. Risulta ben organizzato, completo di tutti i servizi e ha anche una sauna condivisa.
