This is not a hotel; it is more like an apartment converted into professional AirBNB.
Book this place for the location and ease of transportation. Right beside the como lago train station (good if you are arriving from Malpensa-Sarrono-Como Lago). Also can take buses out to Varenna; it is sufficiently close to the ferry terminal (tickets for rapid service to the communes are only available in-person on the day of travel at the ticket counters there) and furnicular.
No real view (i was facing the road). Also no early check-in or luggage storage, though the issue of luggage can be addressed by using the luggage storage facilities about 2-3 minutes away.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
However, as the rooms were next to a busy intersection, noise may be an issue. I stayed on the second floor and it was noisy, but I wore earplugs and it was fine. Overall I may consider staying here again and would recommend it to someone who is hoping to stick...
Read moreLocated near the local ghetto bus station, and above knock off Carefohr, sits this charming ‘hotel’ [hostel]. Upon arrival you will be greeted by, err no one, except a hellevator circa the 1880s. The room is well ventilated with the musky smell of mothballs and decades old body odour. The bed looks quite comfortable, or so it appears. One dare not sit for the fear of catching some unique Italian STDs that probably have STDs. The view, well, what is there not to love? As it’s scenically placed behind a bus station, you will find a clearer view of the terminal roof than the lake. Also—the smell. The smell. THE SMELL. Overall, I rate this charming abode a 1/10. The surrounding area smells like fishy sewage. What Lake Como is good at, is PR. This is not the luxury that I expected. For context, I left within fifteen minutes of arriving. Drove to the civilized city of St Moritz, which I...
Read moreRoom was very basic, the lake view was pretty non existing, you had to get out into the small balcony and lean over to be able to get a glimpse of it. Sofa bed was the smallest sofa bed I've ever seen, surely not for sleeping. There was stains on the sofa bed sheets. At no point was there any interaction from the hosts, you have to call a number and they open the main door remotely. Was really disappointed that they didn't mention that there was alot of road works directly outside the property, as I would have booked somewhere esle. Also handy, there a bus station around the corner along with a train station on the opposite side of the road, also causing noise early in the morning. Once in from the main door of the building, there was a really bad smell, the lift stank bad and had carpet which was...
