Ristorante Osteria dal Pain — Restaurant in Como

Mentre eravamo in gita a Como, cercavamo una trattoria/osteria tipica in cui mangiare qualcosa di casereccio e ci siamo imbattuti in questo locale.

Visto che era domenica, e quindi bello pieno di gente, abbiamo chiesto appositamente se ci fossero problemi a mangiare in 2. La risposta è stata: nessun problema, dandoci un tavolino in uno spazio strettissimo ma, fin qui nessun problema, ci si adegua.

Il bello viene ora...

Passano 20 minuti abbondanti e chiediamo gentilmente se fosse possibile prendere le ordinazioni visto che avevamo già scelto. La prima risposta è stata: "Ragazzi, siete arrivati insieme ad altre persone, non possiamo fare i miracoli". E già qui, una risposta che non ha intelligenza ma lasciamo correre... Passano 25, 30, 35 minuti, al che fermo il proprietario e chiedo se fosse possibile finalmente ordinare. Risposta del titolare: " Ragazzi, noi siamo qui a lavorare, mica a far niente come voi", parlandomi a neanche mezzo metro dalla mia faccia con la mascherina sotto al mento... Ogni domenica mezzogiorno, i miei cuochi si mettono in malattia e noi facciamo fatica a star dietro alla clientela. Ma a me, dei tuoi cuochi e del tuo nervosismo cosa diamin* me ne freg*?! Qui si parla di gentilezza, accoglienza, far sentire "importanti" i clienti. Non quello di continuare a trattare male i clienti pur avendo nettamente torto...

Oltre questo, nel mentre non ci servivano, continuavano a fare entrare gente, facendo addirittura sedere due persone quasi come se fossero in braccio a noi. Non appena questi clienti hanno capito la situazione che si stava creando, se ne sono andati.

Dopo aver "meditato" e capito di aver fatto una figuraccia, si è perlomeno scusato e guarda caso i piatti sono arrivati quasi subito.

Parlando del rapporto qualità-prezzo, a nostro parere è stato abbastanza alto. Sinceramente il primo piatto che abbiamo preso, non è stato niente di che.

Pensavo fosse un problema accaduto solo questa volta, ma leggendo le recensioni noto che questo modo di fare sgarbato sia quasi all'ordine del giorno.

Per concludere, apprezzo comunque il fatto che il proprietario si sia scusato, ma in questo posto non mi vedrete più.

They recommended this restaurant to us as a non-commercial hidden gem, and they weren’t wrong. From the starter to dessert, we experienced authentic local flavors and very well-crafted dishes. Absolutely recommendable. And the cherry on top: our waiter, who first served us in English, heard us speaking Spanish and offered to switch if we preferred. A nice looking place. However, we as a group of 6 people, were placed somewhere in a corner of the terrace with the table being 50% in the full, hot sun. They didn’t allow us to switch to a place in the shade when asked, even though the terrace was completely empty. We only ordered drinks, and the staff was very unpleased with us and made no attempt to hide that. However, they didn’t tell us when we sat down that we also had to order food, nor was it clearly stated anywhere else/were there any signs that we had to.
