We stayed in Collegio alla Querce for three nights this summer and it was the most amazing experience. The location is perfect, in a quiet, upscale residential neighbourhood, away from the center and all the tourists. The hotel offers car service complementary that makes trips all day to drop off and pick up from the center and it’s only about a 10 minute ride. The property is exquisite. While the history of the school is preserved and felt everywhere, it has been beautifully renovated with a classic, modern feel. Definitely felt like a just opened, brand new hotel but already with so much character and warm ambience. We received an upgrade and our room felt very welcoming, spacious, great views of the center the duomo. The restaurant was great, delicious food for every meal and impeccable service. Great cocktails at the library bar. The most special place is probably the pool area and the casual restaurant attached to it. Very relaxing and beautiful place and the pizzas and bread made right there in the wood fired oven there are delicious. The team is very professional and friendly and attentive but not overly attentive like you often feel in luxury hotels which can be too much. The concierge team especially was very helpful with all of the suggestions and making reservations at restaurants in the city. I would love to come back and stay longer one day soon. One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed in.

Collegio alla Querce is a stunning new luxury hotel in Florence, beautifully restored from a 16th-century college. The renovation masterfully blends historical charm with modern elegance. The dining experience is exceptional, featuring attentive service and Tuscan cuisine with a contemporary twist, complemented by atmospheric venues like La Gamella and Bar Bertelli. The lounge and public spaces impress with exquisite decoration that balances Renaissance grandeur and modern flair. - Located in a quiet residential suburb, about 20–30 minutes by car from central Florence and the Uffizi, which may feel disconnected from the city’s historic heart. - Views are limited, offering only a small glimpse of the Duomo. - Gardens are pleasant but not extensive or grand. With Belmond Villa San Michele closed for renovation until 2026 and Four Seasons Firenze recently renovated at a similar price, Collegio alla Querce stands out for its unique historical setting and exceptional service, though it lacks a central location. Ideal for travelers seeking tranquility, refined design, and outstanding hospitality, Collegio alla Querce offers a memorable Florentine experience despite its less central location and modest views.

Overall: A historic property that was once a private college campus, beautifully restored into a luxury resort. Quiet and elegant, with excellent service. Located off the beaten path, so you'll need to arrange transportation to explore the city, but this also offers more privacy. Many taxi and uber drivers mentioned they’d never seen anything like it in Florence. Service: Outstanding. Staff is available 24/7 via text, consistently responsive and attentive. Special thanks to Eduardo, Simona, Valeria, Daria, Bianca, Alex, and Laura. Rooms: Spotless, very spacious, with comfortable beds. My wife particularly loved the heated floors in the bathroom. Ambience: Refined, historic charm meets modern luxury. Very quiet in off-season. Amenities: Beautiful bar housed in the old director’s office, with a thoughtfully curated cocktail menu. We did not try the restaurant, spa, or observation deck. Pool was closed but it must be amazing in the summer. Additional Tip: The staff recommended dinner in Fiesole, a nearby hidden gem with incredible views of Florence, definitely worth a trip.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Collegio alla Querce, and I can confidently say it was an experience to remember. During our visit, we encountered a minor issue with our room, a malfunctioning air conditioner. While this could have dampened our stay, the way the management (specifically Serena) handled it was truly impressive.

As soon as we brought the situation to the attention of the front desk, they took immediate action. Not only did they apologize sincerely, but they also promptly arranged for maintenance to resolve the issue. To our surprise, they offered us a complimentary upgrade to a luxurious suite while the repairs were being made. The suite was beautifully appointed, providing a serene retreat that far exceeded our expectations.

What stood out most was the exceptional level of service we received throughout our stay. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our time at the hotel. Additionally, Serena, the manager followed up personally to ensure that we were comfortable in our new room and that everything was to our liking.

The effort and care demonstrated by the management turned a small hiccup into a remarkable experience. We were truly impressed by their commitment to guest satisfaction. If you’re looking for a hotel that prioritizes its guests and delivers exceptional service, look no further than the Collegio. I can't wait to return for...

This is a new hotel, the result of renovation of a school and it's absolutely stunning inside and out, visually. The staff at the hotel were so welcoming, friendly, generous and accommodating. Truly - among the best staff at a hotel I've stayed in. An incredible team. The rooms are luxe and so are the bathrooms and the pool is beautiful. It was nice to be up in the hills and away from the hustle and bustle of Florence, which can be overrun by tourist and crowds. A few notes on the hotel / tips. The room views aren't going to be amazing all around. If you have the courtyard, you'll be looking into other rooms, if you face the pool, you are looking at where cars pull up/valet is, if you face the city - its the quietest / most private I think. In any case, the view will be better than what you'd get in crowded Florence. Also, the spa wasn't worth it. It's incredibly expensive and the facial was just so / so - kind of broke out after and the women who gave me the facial spent about 15 minutes total either explaining the products and/or trying to sell them to me, which I wouldn't have minded but it was within my allotted 90 min facial, so it felt like i was paying a lot for her to push products. They are probably still working out the kinks - but again, amazing hotel, and...
