This hotel is very basic, they don’t even have a proper sofa / chair in the room, what they have are 2 or 3 wooden stools, so after a long day walk in the city, there is no comfortable chair to sit on (except to sit on the bed), there is no proper wardrobe either (they have hangers and a wooden shelf to hang your clothes), no proper mirror (except in the bathroom). The room is dark, the electric socket near my bed wasn’t working, I thought I was charging my phone overnight but found out it wasn’t charged at all the next morning. The reception lady told us our room could see the Dome and actually you can barely see the dome only if you look sideway, so she was really exaggerating a bit, we actually would appreciate a more honest comment. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon in April and she told us all state museums entrance are free on Sundays and she suggested we make the most of it that day and went visiting the museums. We were very disappointed to find out that it was a false information when we arrived to the museum entrance and there was no free entrance at all. Then we checked on internet actually in April there is no free entrance to the state museums on any Sundays, so it is really a false information provided by the hotel staff. The breakfast room is very small, there is only 1 table have 4 seats, while 4 or 5 tables which have 2 seats. Breakfast is very basic as well, nothing fancy. The hotel is on the 3rd floor, the reception is on the 2nd floor, you have to walk a long stairs to reach the hotel reception or to the hotel room on the 3/F, it is a long stairs than any other usual stairs, the lift is very small, a sign inside the lift states it can only take 3 people. Location of the hotel is fine, can walk to most...
Read moreOnly thing good about this hotel is location, but there are 4 other hotels on the same street. Go there instead. Before you read this as someone ranting it’s not. Hopefully this review will either encourage them to up their game or help another traveler. The few interactions I had with the staff wasn’t unpleasant, but it wasn’t pleasant either. We stayed in room 2 on the third floor. The AC was broken in our room. It felt wonderful in the office and hallways. We told them about it and they said they would bring a fan and call the technician. We went out to explore a bit to give them time to work on that. We came back and neither happened. The front desk lady said she brought the fan and it didn’t help the air flow, which I think is crazy, but okay. What really ticked me off is she turned off the AC completely. Not even allowing some air flow through the room while we were gone. By this time I asked for a different room. Naturally no other rooms available even though online it said there were rooms available. Honestly, I didn’t believe her. She didn’t check the computer when I asked she just went straight into no. Thank the heavens it would get down to 71 at night we thought, “Okay, we can just open the window. It’s August in Italy. This happens.” There was a street lamp right by our window that beemed like the light of a thousand suns and it was beyond noisy. Who knew Florence was popping on a Tuesday night. Also, don’t expect a roomy or safe bathroom. It was tiny for an average sized person and parts kept falling off the shower head. It’s super fun getting in and out of the shower. Like I said, I’d look elsewhere. We stayed one night: Tuesday,...
Read moreWe booked via Tripmasters. Tiny 1st room, looked very rundown and had little insects we caught and showed to staff. They said no one was available to clean so we couldn’t be moved until the next day. The following day we were moved one more floor up to a much bigger room that appeared clean but a horrible odor/stench in the room by later in the evening. Later we found nail clippings in the corner of the room. Bathroom had steps that were easy to miss and very dangerously located and slippery after a shower. It was too much trouble to try and move again for a 3rd night when we had a day trip planned. Old and dingy and very loud doors/locks on the 4th floor with a separate area. We stayed at 3 star hotels our entire 10 days in Italy and this felt like a 1...
