I'm not sure how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. It's the Best gelato I've ever had. I believe this guy who owns it is a 3rd generation gelato maker. He is very cool and excited about his creations. I sampled basil and Oliver oil gelatos. Basil was delicious and interesting but wouldn't want more than a few spoonfuls. Olive oil was good. The owner asked to smell each state before I ate it. He really takes pride in what he did and it shows. I settled on Pecorino, Ricotta and pistachio gelato. Yup, I said pecorino! Soooo good! So was berry, pineapple and mango Thing about those places is that the guy goes lighter on the sugar than most places. They do not make it nas thick and creamy as the other places, and sounds like this is a deal breaker for some. You don't get thirsty like you do with a majority of those gelatos that are huge piles of ice cream. Yes, it may melt a bit more quickly than other places but you will eat it so fast that it doesn't matter. Also had cannoli and it's by far better than any cannoli I've had anywhere in NY. The filling had a smooth consistency and had 3 flavors (caramel apple, chocolate chip and pistachio) and all were superb. I saw some complaints on some other reviews regarding the pistachio prices and the metal cylinders with lids that contain the ice cream and granita: *Pistachio is 50 € more. This is because this shop uses DOP pistachios. These are much higher quality (and cost more to use) and result in a better product. These are the best pistachios available. Many other gelato shops likely use some type of flavoring *The metal cylinders are the best way to hold the product to keep it at ideal temperature and consistency. Again, it is a sign of a shop that serves a higher quality product. This makes a significant difference I highly, highly recommend this place and I'll be back for more tomorrow!

Best Gelateria in Florence! I recently visited Carabè, a charming gelateria in Florence, and I can't stop raving about it! If you're a gelato lover or just looking to treat yourself to something extraordinary, this is the place to go. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality from the owner, who was not only kind but also clearly passionate about the art of making gelato and granita. The atmosphere was inviting, and the array of flavors on display was simply mesmerizing. I had the pleasure of trying the Limone More Menta, a lemon, blackberry, and mint granita that was nothing short of incredible. The balance of flavors was perfect—refreshing, tangy, and bursting with freshness. I also indulged in the Spirit of Sicily, a citrus-flavored delight that captured the essence of the Mediterranean with every bite. My friend sampled several gelato flavors, each one better than the last. The texture was creamy, and the flavors were vibrant and authentic, making it hard to choose a favorite. Definitely try the Ricotta and Pistachio! Carabè is more than just a gelateria—it's an experience. The quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into every scoop is evident, making it stand out as one of the best in Florence. Whether you're a local or a tourist, don't miss out on this hidden gem. Also, if you are gluten-free, vegan, or have other dietary restrictions, there are many options for you here! I'll definitely be back, and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Yummmmmm Some of the best pistachio gelato I've ever had (sorry neither of the flavors in this photo are pistachio -- it's lemon and a tangerine flavor, both super tasty)! I was in town for a wedding with a smattering of folx from the US. It was a pretty big group of us (9 people; some kids, some adults, with a broad range of traveling manners) and the shop owner was incredibly graceful. He was fun, engaging, and navigated the whole situation incredibly well. Everyone left with the gelato they wanted, with a few new Italian words in their vocab, and a great memory. We came back here two more times (in different organizations of the same group) and he recognized us and was always super generous with his energy. An awesome place

I recently enjoyed a delightful visit to Carabè Firenze, a renowned gelateria in Florence with a rich history. Founded by Antonio Lisciandro in 1980, Carabè brings the authentic flavors of Sicilian gelato to Florence. Antonio, hailing from a family of gelato makers in Messina, Sicily, has maintained a commitment to "quality without compromise," which is evident in every scoop.

We sampled a variety of flavors, each more exquisite than the last. The "Spirito Siciliano," made with mandarins and Sicilian lemons, stood out with its refreshing and fragrant taste. The gelato here is known for its natural ingredients and artisanal preparation methods, ensuring a delightful experience that captures the essence of traditional Sicilian gelato.

Carabè also offers a range of other products, including granite (Italian ice) and sherbets, all made with 100% natural ingredients. The lighter texture and less creamy consistency of their gelato make it perfect for enjoying in the warm...
