I had reserved 2 nights in the Presidential Suite. Upon hotel arrival, the reception was cold and the worker appeared bothered. I found this interesting. Next, we were shown to the suite. Within thirty minutes, we observed ants on the bed and on the floor. I at first found this unfortunate. More ants were found. I began to look over the room; an open beer bottle was found outside the window. Clearly the room wasn't cleaned well. The bed sheets were stained and dust was seen in various parts of the room. My son began stomping ants, counting 18 or 19. We went to the front desk. The same intake worker said all they could do is clean the room again. Staff was asked if they had ant traps or another repellent. They arrogantly said no, appearing as if they never heard of an ant trap at which point I showed staff a google image of a trap to elaborate their close-mindedness. Two staff members came to our suite. Staff stated they only saw 1 ant, trying to downplay it all. At this time, the room was warm, the thermostat was on 26-27 Celsius. We decided to change rooms; the new suite was in the attic and the room temperature was the same. Temperature would not cool down and we were given an electrical fan. I cant elaborate further because of limited typing space. I was not asked about my stay by staff as I checked out. No surprise there. I was in Italy 2 weeks and stayed in hotels in Venice, Bologna, Florence and Rome. This was by far the worst experience...
Read moreHotel Executive We stayed at this hotel in August 2018 in room 112. The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute walk to the city. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the train station. The room was small. Bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was medium size. No bath tub. The shower was very small and located in a awkward position in relation to the entry door of the bathroom. The room had a small balcony which allowed good sunlight during the day. At night, the street lights would shine into the bedroom and this meant the room would not be completely dark at night. The room is located near the elevator which means you can hear people at all times. Breakfast was average quality but there was variety. The gym is basic. The hotel had a shuttle service to the airport which was not advised to us at check-in and when we enquired about making use of the service on the day of our departure, we were told it takes about 2-3 days to organize. This was very disappointing as this service was not advised to us at check-in. After our room was cleaned, the cleaning staff left our balcony window open. This was disappointing as it meant the room was hot by the time we cam back to the hotel, that day. The hotel staff service was average....
Read moreWe stayed at 5 different hotels on a recent 12-day train tour of Italy, but this one stood out. Attentive, informative, English-speaking staff at the front desk at all times. Our room was ready early, and it was so nice to have access to a clean and air conditioned fitness room after days of eating carbs! Our room was on the top floor, so we needed to climb a flight of stairs after the elevator. Not a problem! Staff were always ready to help lug suitcases. And hail taxis. The room was spacious and comfortable, with large windows that let in a refreshing breeze. We were given a great recommendation for dinner within a short walk. And on an evening we were too tired after an all-day bus tour to even rally for dinner, there were always complimentary pastries and appetizers in the lobby, with a bartender ready to serve reasonably priced wines till the late hours. Breakfast was so filling, and I was cooked a special portion of scrambled eggs each day once I mentioned I was lactose intolerant. I only wish we could have stayed at the Executive for our whole trip. If we return to Florence I would absolutely seek...
