-Incredibly high quality of dishes & Amazing service-
Since my hometown in Korea is nearside of Indian town, I had a lot of chances to visit various Indian restaurants. So I'm confident in myself that I can tell which Indian foods are good or bad. I visited Florence to spend holidays with my fiance and accidentally found Taj Palace on our way back to home few days ago and got interested how good this place would be. So, I visited here today.
First impression about the place was just amazing. Inside was decorated with traditional Indian style ornaments & furniture and there was delicious smells of curry.
I ordered "Taj Palace Palak" & "Shrimp Pakora" for appetizers, "Tandoori Chicken" & "Mutton Madras curry with Chilly Garlic naan and Onion naan" for main dishes. Palak is fried dish but since it's mainly composed of Chickpeas, it was not that greasy. For the curry, it was just fantastic. Mutton, so tender, Naan, crispy outside and soft inside. There's no more words to explain. Just try.
As the foods were coming up, the manager always came to the table and explained about the details of the each dishes and what kinds of special features they have. I was so impressed since this kinds of services are only served only around 5 stars rated hotel restaurants or Michelin starred restaurants.
At first, I had no plan to have some dolce, but after finishing the main dishes, I had strong feeling that I will regret if I don't take some traditional dolce. So, I asked the manager for some recommendation and he kindly suggested traditional Chai tea and Kesari Kheer. Chai tea was a type of milk tea, but not that sweet with deep flavor of chai leaf. And Kesari Kheer was a sweet delicacy made of rice which had very particular taste in good way.
Overall, don't ever hesitate to visit here. I assure you that you will never regret both with the...
Read moreTaj Palace Ristorante Indiano, Florence. Dining at Taj Palace in Florence was an absolute delight from start to finish. If you’re searching for authentic Indian food in the heart of Tuscany, this is the place to be. The restaurant itself strikes a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. The interior is beautifully decorated—warm, classy, and tastefully traditional with a hint of vintage elegance. It’s immaculately clean, giving a comfortable yet refined atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. What truly sets Taj Palace apart, however, is the outstanding service. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Abdil, who was a pleasure throughout the evening. Attentive, knowledgeable, and personable, he made sure we had the best possible experience. His recommendation to try the Lucknow Butter Chicken instead of the classic version turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. The dish itself was exceptional: the chicken was tender, clearly marinated with care, and the sauce was rich with layers of spices and balanced flavors. Unlike many butter chicken dishes that lean heavily on creaminess alone, this one carried depth and character—fragrant, spiced just right, and utterly delicious. You could taste the authenticity in every bite. Alongside this, the menu offers a range of authentic Indian dishes prepared with skill and respect for traditional flavors. Everything we tasted felt fresh, thoughtfully presented, and true to its roots. Overall, Taj Palace is more than just a restaurant—it’s a genuine culinary experience that brings a slice of India to Florence. With excellent food, a stylish yet traditional setting, and service that goes above and beyond, it’s a place we would recommend...
Read moreMy wife and I ate dinner here this evening based on favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. After more than two weeks in Tuscany, we were ready for a change of pace for dinner.
After confirming my reservation, we were promptly seated, being offered our choice of two-top tables.
For appetizers, we ordered shrimp soup and spiced meat samosas. The shrimp flavor was very delicate, but the lemon slice in the soup and delightful texture made for a pleasing broth with little bits of shrimp in the bottom of the bowl. The samosas were served hot (as were all other hot dishes this meal) and were good when sliced in half and some sauces added.
Our entrees were tandoori chicken with a raita blended with cumin, and tikka chick served with butter chicken sauce on the side. My wife had a glass of white wine, I had a Kingfisher bottled Indian beer, as well as white Jasmine rice and some naan bread for the table.
The chicken arrived hot from the tandoor oven. Each piece of my boneless chicken was almost fork tender, as was the meat my wife removed from the bone of her entree. The sauces were on point - we both agreed we had never eaten better chicken in an Indian restaurant.
Although full from the chicken and accompanying rice, I wanted to try the Kesari Kheer rice pudding cooked with dried fruits and flavored with cardamom and saffron. The creamy pudding was sweet and had some texture from the rice and fruit.
All this food, including two glasses of white wine and a .33 CL bottle of beer was 65 Euro. For the quality and quantity of food, this was a bargain. Add us to the list of well...
