Bellavista — Hotel in La Spezia

The room itself was nice - had a comfy bed, new bathroom and a small kitchenette. The view is also very nice. It is receiving a low star rating due to the misleading information regarding the bellavista posted on various hotel booking websites.

1. it is NOT a hotel - it is an affittacamere (which is a holiday rental apartment)

2. there is no front reception

3. if you are visiting from overseas and do not have wifi or an italian simcard, it is REALLY difficult to get in touch with the owners to organise check in (as someone has to meet you with a key). There is only 1 contact phone number (no email or back up contact etc)

4. there is a steep driveway with steps up to the front entrance, and then there are 5 flights of steps leading up the room, and then MORE stairs inside the apartment (so do not book if you have knee problems or multiple suitcases)

The building was very hard to find, we had to ask a couple of people around as the building is not on the street but is inside a square of buildings that we had to climb VERY LONG stairs just to see it! They should’ve at least put signs for their guests!!! When we finally found the building after 30 minutes of looking, we rang the door bell that was assigned to the Bellavista for 15 minutes and no one answered, so we called the number on Expedia and had to pay for international call and still no answer! I found another number on the sign on the building so I called and a man who doesn’t speak any English just screamed at me “Cinque minuta! Cinque minuta!” After 15 minutes, a nice girl showed up and opened the building’s door for us and showed us up to our room, through 4 floors of stairs while me and my wife were carrying heavy big suitcases. Ha sido la experiencia más horrible que he tenido en Italia. No tiene nada que ver lo que se publicita en las fotos de la página de Booking con lo que te encuentras a llegar. 130 escaleras hasta llegar al apartamento no hay ascensor. Edificio viejo y decadente en una zona bastante oscura. Da miedo salir por la noche. A través de las fotos de la página de Booking contratas una habitación y cuando llegas te encuentras con otra totalmente diferente en las fotos aparece una habitación con terraza en la que te encuentras es una habitación con una ventana. Cuando haces la reclamación te contestan que la habitación que aparece en las fotos es de una categoría superior cosa que no estaba reseñado en la primera entrada en la página. Los responsables del Hotel verifica el error y rápidamente acceden a poner en las fotos una reseña en la que se diferencian, habitación de luxe o habitación estándar, pero las fotos siguen estando mezcladas, lo que da al consumidor una falsa imagen con una publicidad engañosa. La atención con la responsable del Hotel ha sido pésima sin resolución de ningún problema. Acto seguido acudo a la policía para denunciar la estafa por publicidad engañosa. Este establecimiento no merece estar en este tipo de mercado con esta categoría. Tengo todos los enlaces de la reservas y las fotos del lugar por fuera y por dentro. La otra mala experiencia por segunda vez es contratar por Booking, después de mandar más de ocho o nueve e-mails para que me facilitarán el código de acceder a las llaves del apartamento hasta las 9:00 de la noche y después de no haber recibido la respuesta de la página de Booking, tuve que contactar por teléfono con la responsable del Hotel para que me dijera el código de acceso a las llaves Nunca más...
