Cinque Terre Behind — Hotel in La Spezia

This is NOT a hotel, it is a poorly run air b&b (minus the breakfast). It is a collection of 5 ish rooms in the middle of a run down residential apartment building. After booking, we got instructions to contact the place to let them know when we would be arriving, after not getting any response for several days (and several emails), we started to read more reviews to see if anyone else had the same problem and I started to worry. ||There is no front desk and it is VERY difficult to get a hold of someone who who runs it. The day before we arrived, we asked the hotel we were staying at to call and let them know when we would be arriving the next day. This wasn't good enough, and they said to call when we arrived (trains in Europe run like clockworks, we weren't going to be delayed taking the hour long train ride from our previous hotel). But we did call when we got in (an expensive international phone call)! They said they would be there in 20 mins.....We ended up waiting about that outside the apartment building until someone who lived there came out, smiled and laughed at us standing there with all of our bags, asked if we were there for the Cinque Terre Behind (I'm sure he sees this all the time). He was nice and told us what floor to take the elevator to. We got there, coincidentally there was someone there cleaning (our room wasn't ready), but they let us leave our bags. When we left there still wasn't anyone waiting to meet us and we didn't get a call, text or email back! The bed was rock hard, the walls were paper thin and the king bed and balcony (with a cute dinning set as shown in the picture) that we paid extra for, weren't available. After sending pictures, expedia gave us a partial refund for the upgrade that we didn't get. At no point did we see or hear from someone who runs this place. None of our messages, phone calls or emails were returned. The location is great is you are going to see Cinque Terre, room was clean, everything else...

Was very skeptical as this listing did not have any recent reviews so when I booked I was nervous . It’s Not a hotel it’s more apartment style place .every conversation is through what’s app . This street has lots of apartment places like ours so you enter and there’s a lift Thank god !! Everything is remote so you scan your key and enter no reception no lobby no one to welcome you :) we got a room which had no balcony was facing a alley ! Rooms are super white and bright love the lighting and shower :) I have travelled a lot and I can say this place has best light and shower pressure :) La spezia as a town is very okay but it’s agreat base to go around cinque terre and other towns .this place is 5 min from station and very convenient if you are traveling by trains location is great and that’s the advantage this place has .i paid a lot for this room which was not worth as I was in the peak season of august . Try to take the room with balcony .i paid about 250$ for this room and they had no body lotion which is very weird ! They did have great coffee machine and tea kettle and they had toast and some juice they put out everyday ! Very clean and immaculate place we enjoyed if you are around this area do stay there ! Also behind this restaurant is the whole walking streets filled with restaurants so pretty much everything is in walking distance ! It’s a place where you think you are living in your apartment 😃no social interactions :) I am giving 4 stars for all the convenience but it’s certainly not a 4 star hotel ! The place is great if it’s below 200$ not worth what I paid ..also there no Uber and getting a taxi is a pain in city I wish they had a app so low this wise great and decent...

Es handelt sich um ein umfunktioniertes Bauwerk mit multiplen separaten Zimmern in Trockenbauweise. Die Einrichtung ist neuwertig und exakt wie auf den Bildern ganz ohne Fotoshop. Die Zimmer sind mit einer Schlüsselkarte zugänglich und die Karte wird natürlich benötigt um den Strom fließen zu lassen. Für mein Geschmack war die Matratze zu fest und die Kissen nicht weich genug. Ist aber nur meine Meinung. Fürs Handy gab es dlink open allerdings ging der PC hierüber nicht zu verbinden. Flachbildfernseher empfängt zdf so dass neben Italienisch auch Deutsch zu hören war. Der Frühstück bestand aus 2 Scheibchen Zwieback und Kirschmarmelade. Instant Cappuccino, Orangensaft in Flaschen und eine 0.5L Wasserflasche war drin. Es ist eben ein italienisches Frühstück. Wenn in Rom... somit ganz akzeptabel. Das Bad ist hell, mit (Regen- und Hand-)Dusche sowie Toilette, Bidet, Waschbecken und Fön sowohl als großen Spiegel und Handtuchheizkörper ausgestattet. Auch ist eine einstellbare Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Alles ist neuwertig und einwandfrei. Minuspunkte waren für mich die extreme Hellhörigkeit. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass jemand ständig über unseren Köpfen herumstampfen würde. Die Gespräche und das Schnarchen in benachbarten Räumlichkeiten waren sehr gut zu folgen. Da Viele erst um 23 Uhr und später eintrafen war das eine nicht unerhebliche Belästigung. Das Hotel ist sehr nah am Bahnhof. So kann man für €4 binnen einer halben Stunde vom Hotel aus in Monterosso sein. Mit dem Zug natürlich. Der Hafen mit Fähre ist 10 min. entfernt zu Fuß. Das Boot kostet €18 für einfache Fahrt oder €35 für hin und zurück. Die Boote fahren recht selten. So ist die Nähe zum Bahnhof recht günstig. Das Hotel bietet Stellplätze in einem nahegelegenen privaten Parkhaus an. €30 am Tag ist fei steil, doch steht das Auto trocken und überdacht. Parkhaus und Hotel im 4. Stock verfügen beide über Fahrstuhl. So kann man bequem und schnell das Auto abstellen und wieder abholen. Insgesamt ist das Hotel ganz gut. Wer empfindlich gegen Geräusche ist, der bringe Ohropax und/oder Schlaftabletten mit! Für mein Teil würde ich auch andere Hotels ausprobieren. Aber... so sauber und gepflegt wird kaum ein zweites italienisches Hotel sein. Und letztlich möchte man eh ohnehin draußen unterwegs sein. Daher gut empfehlenswert. Verkehrstechnisch günstig gelegen, sauber, für ca. 115 je Nacht konkurrenzfähig. Insgesamt gut bis sehr gut. Aber nicht...
