Casa al Lago — Hotel in Lecco

Mr. Oreste is the best host we've had during our trip. He is a very busy man and he is the kindness man we met in our trip. He was my first contact in Italy and very accommodating to my family and I. We had our best stay here and I can say it is really because of Mr. Oreste's hospitality, the location of the stay, and the room.

My family and I (with two kids) had no trouble staying in Casa al Lago. There is street noise, but honestly, it is not too bad. My children got used to it and we had our best sleep in the hotel. The room is very spacious and if you needed anything, Mr. Oreste was there to assist. Even though there was no breakfast provided, there are amazing bakeries and cafes in Lecco that was more than enough for my family and I.

The location is amazing - it is on the edge of the lake. I ran in the morning and Casa al Lago was the perfect place. It is also conveniently across the ferry! We mainly chose Lecco to go straight to Varenna and other places in Lake Como via Train/Ferry. Very convenient as a hub to explore.

Mr. Oreste, my family and I thank you for being so kind to us, even when we ran into an issue during our last day. We will not forget your kindness. We wished we could've stayed longer and ate at your restaurant. Next time, we will definitely stay here!

Casa al Lago in Lecco. Stayed there at the beginning of October for a few warm days. The temperature was close to 30°C and the air conditioning was not working.

We mentioned this to the owner and then found out that he had turned off the air conditioning for the season.

We asked him to turn it on but he refused and thought we should open the window at night instead. Unpleasant attitude and not a good solution since the hotel is located on a busy street and our windows were facing a restaurant with outdoor seating and parties late at night.

We paid 80 Euro/night when paying in cash (otherwise 90 Euro) and it is one of the cheapest hotels in the city. But they promise more than they deliver, no air conditioning and no working wifi.

I will choose another accommodation next time and recommend others to do the same.

Loved this place. Location is incredible, directly opposite the lake and ferry terminal and within walking distance to the station and lots of restaurants. We didn’t get his name, but the owner of this place is the loveliest man! So accommodating and friendly. He even let us choose which room we wanted to stay in and we chose one with a big terrace where we could drink wine in the evening with a good view of the mountain. The room was clean and comfortable and water and fruit were provided which was an added bonus! Good and well priced restaurant downstairs as well. Breakfast from the cafe across the street was also delicious, just a pastry and coffee but still so yummy. Would definitely recommend this...
