Disappointing Stay at Hilton Milan - Urgent Updates Required I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at the Hilton Milan. My experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share the details of my visit. First and foremost, it is evident that the hotel is in dire need of updates. The hallways and rooms emitted a persistent unpleasant odor, creating an uncomfortable environment. The worn-out carpets and aging furniture in the rooms further exacerbated my disappointment, leaving me reluctant to even use the furnishings due to concerns about their cleanliness. What added to our dismay was an incident involving a member of the hotel staff and my wife at the lobby bar. Despite the area being largely unoccupied, a waiter questioned my wife's presence and requested her to move within the lobby while she was waiting for me. This unnecessary and unwarranted treatment was disheartening and cast a shadow over our entire stay. Furthermore, the state of cleanliness in the rooms was questionable at best. We even discovered a straw for drinks lying on the floor, indicating that the rooms may not have been thoroughly cleaned. This only compounded our impression that the hotel was not living up to the standards one would expect from the Hilton brand. However, at the end of our stay, the manager of the reception approached me. She sincerely apologized for the inconveniences we faced throughout our stay and on behalf of the entire staff and the hotel, offered a discount for a future stay. She explained that the hotel will be undergoing a comprehensive renovation next year to address the issues we encountered. While this gesture was appreciated, it remains my hope that Hilton Milan will take immediate action to address these pressing concerns for the benefit of all its guests. The Hilton brand has the potential to provide remarkable hospitality, and I believe that timely intervention can restore its reputation. I trust that my feedback will serve as a catalyst for positive change and improvements. I look forward to witnessing the transformation of Hilton Milan through its upcoming renovation and experiencing the high standards that the Hilton name is know.

Outdated hotel, not as shown in pictures on the Hilton website. We were not welcomed upon arriving to this hotel which is disappointing as my boyfriend also holds Diamond status. We were given a completely outdated room. I’ve included photos to show the repairs that need to be done. We spoke with their staff and were offered an identical room with similar issues. After speaking with them a second time they were happy to accommodate and we received a renovated room, which still looked old fashioned and contained some damaged looking furniture. Please, do not book this hotel if you can not safely step at least a foot up into a wet bathtub. Even as young adults we managed to stub our legs and toes on the high edge of the bathtub. To make matters even worse they closed the executive lounge yet their website was still promoting it as open. Instead we were offered 1 drink from a selected (and disappointing) menu at their bar downstairs. Overall we did not have a good experience and would not ever return to this Hotel despite its great location. I don’t fault the staff for our unpleasant stay but they also didn’t go above to accommodate us without us discussing our issues multiple times. It’s extremely inappropriate to sell executive rooms to people if the executive lounge is closed and they are not being offered a satisfactory replacement for the increased price… I give 2 stars only because the staff did show some effort and as I said the location was good as it was near the main train station. Although it’s far too expensive for the experience.

Honestly as far as expectations go for Hilton this does not meet them. For one, Diamond Members looking forward to the "Executive" lounge, don't. The coffee machine is broken and doesn't dispense milk, they were serving whole unsliced pieces of fruit that you had to slice yourself with a butter knife (not easy) for breakfast, and water. For dinner time, they had self pour beverages which was nice but the appetizers were single bites of meat and salad in tiny bowls. Not exactly what I would consider to be "Executive." Obviously this is a management problem; the staff was quite friendly and very helpful in getting me situated in my room. The room was okay. Sleeping area is nice but the bathroom is quite dated and the walls were very scuffed. The provided balcony was quite large and I would have loved to hang out on it but there was no furniture out there in order to do so. Just 200+ square feet of concrete. Quite strange. Luckily we were only here for one night before a flight. One item to note: If you are coming as a couple, apparently they do not let couples sleep in a queen sized bed (We do at home just fine) so they had to "upgrade" us to a King sized bed, luckily at no charge.

This was my first trip to Milan and we were only staying one night and then flying out the next day. I'm a bit of a planner, so I had emailed the concierge staff with lots of questions and requests. Questions included directions from the train station (only a 2 block walk), best way to get to the Cathedral, arrangements for Covid Testing for US re-entry, and even scheduling private car service to the Milan Airport.

All of my emails were answered promptly and everything was scheduled before arriving. I had requested a connecting room for my 78 year old mother, taken care of. The Covid testing was scheduled by arranging a doctor to come our room, all arranged by the concierge staff. However the US testing requirement was lifted while we were traveling so I contacted the concierge staff via email to cancel; which they did before our arrival.

Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the nice registration desk personnel. After registering, I stopped by the concierge desk to thank them for all their customer service provided before I had even arrived. I only gave my first name and then Gianluca (the concierge on duty), said my last name. I was very impressive that he would recognize me with just a few emails. Gianluca also confirmed out private car and time for the next day; which is a great service I would highly recommend if you are traveling through the Milan Airport.

Once we got to our room, I have to say it was beautiful. We had lots of room to spread out and lots of room in our bathroom. My mother's connecting room was a little smaller; but still perfect for her needs and even would have worked for 2 people. Again, I was at peace knowing my mother had her own space but was still connected to us. After getting settled, we headed out via taxi to the Cathedral. The concierge desk called a taxi for us; so no issues getting one.

After touring the Cathedral area a few hours, we headed back to hotel. Getting a taxi back took a little bit of work; but we were able to make it back in time for happy hour. I have to strongly recommend if you stay at this hotel you opt for the Executive Room. It will include the Executive Lounge and breakfast. The Lounge access is a great value included in your Executive room stay and breakfast is wonderful.

The happy hour is from 6:00-8:00 in the Executive Lounge and includes lots of complementary beverage choices (even alcoholic), light food choices including soup, salad, sandwiches, cheeses, etc. We actually had so many snacks we did not need to eat dinner. After Happy Hour, we headed back to our rooms to make sure we were all packed up and a great night's sleep.

The breakfast opened at 6:30 am; which we took advantage of. I have to say hands down the included breakfast buffet was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The food options were not only plentiful; but beautifully displayed and all of an exceptional quality. Breakfast even includes a fresh squeezed orange juice machine where you can literally make your own OJ. Other options like gourmet cheeses, fresh bakery items, and fresh fruit are all included next to the typical "American" choices like bacon, eggs, etc. Again because we were in an Executive Room, this outstanding breakfast was available to us at no charge.

After breakfast, we headed up to our room, got our luggage to head down to the lobby to meet for our car service. Through the concierge desk, they arranged for our car service at 8:00 am to get us to the airport. The car arrived at 7:45 and the concierge helped us get all our luggage in the car along with our driver. It took about an hour to get to the Milan Airport and the car service was very helpful and appreciated as we could just sit back and enjoy our last view of Italy.

I want to thank the Milan Hilton staff for the outstanding customer service they provided to make our stay exceptional. My only regret was only staying one night; but whenever I'm in Milan this will...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hilton Milan at the beginning and end of our 2-week trip in Italy. We had previously stayed at the Hilton Milan on multiple occasions on a previous trip in 2017. We chose to return on this trip due to comfortable rooms, great staff, Executive lounge, and proximity to the central train station. ||I messaged the hotel prior to our stay and, as a Diamond member, Moira kindly upgraded us to a renovated Junior Suite. Moira happened to also be the staff member to check us in and remembered our online chat. All of the front desk staff are friendly, professional, and speak excellent English. ||We enjoyed our spacious junior suite, which had been recently renovated. We were told the room thermostat is set at 21 degrees Celsius but you can adjust the room temperature up or down by 3 degrees. We were never able to get the room colder than 20 degrees during our 2-day stay, despite setting the thermostat at 18 degrees. It was unseasonably warm those days. ||We also stayed in standard King room the night before our flight home. We were offered a renovated room but didn’t want to wait for it to become available (we were checking in at noon). We were pleased with our standard King room. It did overlook some construction, which is still going on at the hotel. But it was a Saturday afternoon, so the workers were almost done for the day. This room’s thermostat was set at 19 degrees Celsius, which was very pleasant. ||Both rooms had comfortable beds, cool sheets/duvet, and good pillows. We had spent 2 weeks sleeping on hard beds with flimsy sheets and neck-wrenching pillows. So we slept blissfully at the Hilton. The rooms are quiet and we did not hear our neighbors.||As a Diamond member, the breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, and it is expansive and of excellent quality with friendly and efficient staff. The Executive Lounge is being renovated, so it currently is housed on the ground floor beside the restaurant. The lounge is open from 10 AM to 8 PM and has water, soft drinks, and a few nibbles available during the day. Happy hour is from 6-8 PM. There is beer, wine, and various liquors to make cocktails. It is self-serve. There are also cold and hot appetizers, although we didn’t find the options particularly appealing to our tastes. ||If you are taking a train or want to catch the Metro, it is a very short walk to the station (a block or so). There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is a Europcar rental next door to the hotel and a Sixtcar rental at the train station. There is also an Aldi store conveniently next door. ||We would happily stay at the Hilton...

Wow, the Hilton Milan rocked it!! We had THE most pleasurable stay during our 3 weeks in Italy. We used the Hilton Milan as our base to travel around to Sardinia (easy 1.5 hour flight) and Cinque Terre (3 hour train ride, station is 2 minutes from hotel, so convenient!) This was the best decision ever! Each time we checked out and returned, it was like returning to family!! Everyone at the hotel was incredible. So helpful, so kind, so willing to go the extra mile to make sure you were happy with your stay! Alice, thank you so much for all of your kind assistance is securing our room and all our requests! You are an angel and we can't wait to hear the good news when your little bundle of joy enters the world! :-) The ENTIRE front desk staff needs a standing ovation for the excellent job they do and the feeling they create for their guests!! I don't want to leave anyone out because each and every one at the front desk deserves an A+, 5 star review!! The hotel was in the middle of a renovation but wow, you'd never know it. It was quiet and peaceful and even with the shifting of the executive lounge to a temporary location, you never felt compromised for one second! Everything flowed so smoothly and perfectly, it was a pleasure to be guests here!! Our breakfast buffet was outstanding (we miss you Mariagracias!! :-) and the lounge appetizers each night were so delicious and assorted, we never had to go anywhere else after a long day of touring!! What a pleasure this lounge was! Treat yourself to access, it is so worth it!! The concierge was top notch!! What a great group of guys that just put a smile on your face every time they assisted you!! Pio, you are so charming and kind and helpful always!! Such a pleasure to know you! Antonio (Tony), our new best friend, we would have been lost without you, you are truly a special human!! And Emmanuel, you are so sweet and do your job with such a full heart! We truly felt privileged to be staying here and enjoying all the great things this hotel has to offer. Location is primo if you are needing train travel and only a lovely walk away from all the action by the Duomo (or quick taxi ride!) We just arrived home and already we are talking about returning, lol! The Milan Hilton made our 3 week stay in Italy, feel like a true home away from home!! STANDING OVATION TO ALL OF YOU!!! We were so sad to leave but will be so happy when we return one day! Thank you for........EVERYTHING!!! And to all my fellow TripAdvisor travelers, do yourself a favor and book the Milan Hilton! You will...
