The whole experience was quite a bit weird, I don’t think this would be my choice to go there again.
Food - appetisers were good, we have chose the platter with Italian meats, cheese (x2 tiny pieces) and dumplings. Main fried fish with vegetables arrived with long black hair fried into the batter, portion obviously was returned, I had to wait for another one to come to replace this one while my husbands meal was ok, therefore meaning he was half finished when my replacement arrived. Dessert - pistachio muss cake and coconut passion fruit muss cake, both were good, but overpriced £8 per piece. Overall very overpriced, there are much better places to go for higher quality food.
Waiter - He was great, funny and very attentive.
Atmosphere - we believe this guy was the owner, but no idea, he was pacing up and down the restaurant constantly, making the whole atmosphere uncomfortable, the fact that he was wearing t shirt in restaurant while doing that was weird. We have been in good restaurants and have seen owners in these places dressed in suits and perhaps when walking around approach clients to check if everything is good. This guy was literally pacing up and down for no...
Read moreStayed at a nearby hotel and went here on a weekday for dinner with my wife. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks then our initial waiter never came back over. After 45min we asked the waiter serving table next to us if we could get some bread and order our food. Anti paste came out correct and quickly then 45min later the owner came over and asked if we wanted dessert or just the check. Confused we explained our dinner never came out, she checked and said nothing was ordered so we re-ordered with her. My wife ordered a pasta dish and got scallops, I ordered fish and got veal which we’re brought to us by a completely different waitress who insisted thats what we ordered like it was our fault. Our original waiter re-appeared with the check and asked which hotel recommended them as if they were not happy tourists showed up. Only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because the food even though wrong was actually very good at very...
Read moreWe discovered this lovely restaurant only on the third evening of our stay in NYX Hotel just a two minute stroll from it; and we had dinner there every evening thereafter for the rest of our stay. It serves exceptional, fresh, very well prepared food (grilled octopus *, grilled seafood platter, tagliotini with prawns, Milanese risotto, etc) at reasonable prices. They often serve complimentary pre & post meal items like lovely, hot, bite-sized arancini & aromatic freshly baked dessert biscuits & chilled limoncello. The wait staff, especially the pretty Chinese lady called Valentina (Zhou Yun), are gracious and helpful, recommending dishes and tweaking them with the kitchen to suit our tastes. We enjoyed every dish we ordered & loved the experience of dining in a place where the staff & customers all appeared happy...
