Do you want so-so food with a large serving of rudeness? I rely on google reviews - nothing under a 4.2. This place is a 4 and not sure how they got it. I was seated in a section of this tall waiter. He took him forever to get my order - it’s and I was working on my laptop so I didn’t care. He finally came and took my order - I asked for recommendations and he wasn’t listening. At all. He just said good good. It took him forever to get my drinks - so much so that the couple next to me felt bad for me and tried to flag him down and said: we feel bad for you. Then he finally came with my half bottle - didn’t open it but slammed the bottle and walked away. He came back to open it. And then he brought bread for everyone - the table behind me, next to me, he even added fake chili peppers next to the table - like over the top attention. So I asked for bread - and he finally brought bread. Pasta came and I finished.. didn’t check on me once but he checked on the guy next to me - gave him the restaurant Wi-Fi code - entered it into his phone while we had to use a crappy free one that didn’t work. Then the guy next to me ask for a cheesy insta video - so the waiter literally walks outside the restaurant and films him alll the way to the table eating - it was so cheesy. All of this happening while he didn’t bother to see where my second course is. He literally ignored me all night and while he courted the guy next to me. Then my second course pizza came and it was the wrong order. I asked for onions and or course he didn’t get the order right because he is literally clueless and his mind is in the guy next to me. I said my pizza is wrong - and I requested onions and then they brought over raw onions. Raw red onions on my pizza. Didn’t apologize - another waiter came and apologized. The waiter - who is this point - is putting on another cheesy performance for a birthday party comes over with the bill. He said - i took the pizza off - to which I’m thinking - I hope so because I sent it back. Then he is rushing me with the bill - I said - the service was terrible and he just laughs. Doesn’t acknowledge or doesn’t bother saying sorry. Just smiles and connects my credit card. I asked for the manager and he said sorry - and they were laughing - didn’t even take the service off. I heard the other waiters making fun of me working on my laptop. This place is a misogynist dump. I told my hotel not to send anyone there. DO NOT GO IL Tavino. This was my last night and too bad it has to...

It is close to Centrale station and Plaza de Republica. We had checked in to a hotel near this restaurant at around 8PM and wanted to go out and see around the neighborhood before calling it a day. The receptionist recommended this place and also it was just around the corner, so we decided to go. The ambience is good, although I feel too many tables are crammed into a small space. Food is good. They have a good variety of wine and pizzas are wood fried. We ordered wine and their Ortolana Pizza, chicken steak and rissotto Alla Milano. This is where the good part ends. They provide complimentary bread and that was not chewable. Their service is TERRIBLE! We had just reached Milan and a visit here spoilt our mood completely. First of all, we were stared at, right after 5 seconds of entering, for we were wearing floaters. When we entered, one waiter showed us an available table and when he went back to the counter, we could hear the other man at counter, who didn't seem like the manager, kind of disagreeing with the former about letting us in. Come on now! It's a tourist place, near railway station. Obviously they should expect tired travelers coming for dinner and not people in Tux showing up. The place is not the high end, fine dining types, although people here might think of themselves to be, in there heads. Moreover we were dressed appropriately for a place like that, it's not like we reached there in tatters, only our footwear was casual. Last I checked, that wasn't a crime. There was no need for them to treat us differently, unless they had other conservative inhibitions in mind. The waiter seemed like he did not care through out. Also, the place is expensive, really overpriced for what they deliver. A dinner for a couple would cost around 50 Euros. Would...

I went there with my partner after seeing the reviews on Google. It was our first night in Milan. The staff seemed very cold towards us, however, we did not mind it at first as we were very hungry. We quickly realised that the treatment towards us felt different compared to other guests coming in as they were served "welcome drinks" and the staff interacted and made jokes with them and we were very much ignored apart from when ordering our food. The couple walking in after us and sitting at the table next to us got a completely different and nicer treatment with drinks and jokes. It felt very selective. We ordered pizza and it was OK. The waiter did not look us when asking if we wanted dessert and ignored our question when we asked how the tiramisu was and simply walked off. So apparently we ended up with the tiramisu which was actually very nice! However, the food did end up making me sick the same night but most likely due to allergies. We had to ask for the bill twice as other guests were prioritised with much laughter and jokes and we were quickly forgotten (the same waiter asked us a second time if we were finished). Please bear in mind this was our personal experience and observation, but perhaps if a restaurant is to serve people "welcome drinks" and make guests feel special and welcomed, then perhaps do so with everyone or not at all as it will be picked up on and guests will wonder why not everyone is getting this same treatment. And reading some of the reviews it seems like we are the only ones who got this type of treatment. Unfortunately, due to this experience we will not...

Let me begin with saying, the look of this place is better than what you actually get. Food - we ordered the milanese meatballs, lasagna and a pizza. The meatballs arrived buried underneath a mound of cheese, but they were tasty. 3 meatballs so easy enough to share or have by yourself. The pizza was edible, but its definitely not where id recommend for a pizza, and their lasagna was okay, a huge slab is the best way to describe it but not the tastiest either. The best thing about here was the bottle of Gavi they had on the wine list, but everything else really was a let down. Service took over 25mins to take our drinks order, no water or bread or anything served to us in the meantime just left us waiting in which we had agreed if it took any longer than another 2 minutes, we would have left. When they did finally come to take our order, food arrived slowly, warm but not hot as if it was super fresh, and the bottle of water we asked for with the wine seemed to take the longest to arrive. The waiter who started serving us disappeared midway through, and instead was replaced by a younger man who was a bit inexperienced (was quite apparent), and randomly brought over a bread basket that was filled with burnt bread towards the end of our main course. Food honestly wasn't worth the price we paid, and service really was so questionable. Read all the reviews left by everyone recently before deciding to come here, because somethings clearly changed in the last few weeks that they've clearly gone quite downhill from all the great 5* reviews left beforehand.

We are staying at the Hyatt and this is 50 feet away so it makes a perfect lunch spot. I think some people who have not been to Italy/Europe are confused. You typically have to pay for bread and water, that is not unique to this restaurant. Anyways, we had a lovely time at this cafe. There is outdoor seating in both the shade and sun and across the street! Our waiter was hilarious and enjoyed our mixed communication of Italian and English as we ordered. For starters they bring out a bottle of water (which costs 3 Euro but was enough for 4 people) and a basket of bread AND a flat bread (with olive oil). The bread is a 4 euro charge per person. We also ordered wine which was all very good and reasonably priced. I ordered the wheat gnocchi with mussels which was very tasty. However, be warned, if you don't like parsley this is not the dish for you. My mom ordered the saffron and butter risotto which was cooked perfectly but was lacking in flavor a bit. It could have used some salt or garlic but it was as described on the menu! My brother and dad ordered the "spicy pasta" and it was not that spicy but very tasty with a dollop of ricotta on top. We ended with a cappuccino. Overall, a great experience and I'm sure we will back during our stay!

On our last day in Italy, we decided to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, it had some issues. When we walked in, a lady welcomed us warmly, but the two men at the counter completely ignored us—no greeting, no eye contact. Thankfully, our waitress was kind and attentive. We ordered two seafood pastas and a pizza, which were served quickly and tasted great. We also had house red and white wines, listed at 6 euros each, and they were just okay. However, we later noticed that every other customer who entered or left was greeted and thanked by the same man at the counter—except us. Curious, I checked Google reviews and found that other Asian tourists had similar experiences. This was the only time during our trip to Italy that we encountered anything like this, and it was disappointing. I usually research reviews beforehand, but since we were starving, we didn’t have time. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend any business with discriminatory behavior. To top it off, we were charged 7 euros instead of 6 for both glasses of wine, but I chose not to address it. Overall, the food was good, but the experience left a bad impression. I will definitely not recommend this place.
