Just returned from our trip to Italy and so enjoyed our time in Monterosso. We spent 3 nights at this property as part of our trip and were highly impressed. This was our only official B & B as the other properties we stayed at were hotels - 2 of them 4 star hotels - so we weren't sure what to expect. What we found was a property that met or surpassed our expectations on every level. Marta and the rest of the staff were very courteous, professional and incredibly efficient. She met us at the gate and upgraded our room to a suite at no cost. The accommodations are beautiful. There are about 10 rooms available between two small houses. The property is set back from the road on the hillside - completely away from traffic noise or crowd noise but a 5 minute walk down to the village. It is surrounded by an iron fence and groves of olive trees. The view from almost every spot is incredible - straight down to the sea. The grounds are gorgeously and immaculately landscaped and maintained with attractive plantings and several private seating areas scattered about. In addition, every room seemed to have some sort of private outdoor seating area - either a terrace or patio with chairs. Fantastic for relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine. Breakfast is set out on the covered veranda next to the the splash pool. There are also several nice lounge chairs scattered about on this and the adjacent sundeck. Breakfast itself was very good. Juice and champagne, scrambled eggs, a selection of pastries, toasts and yogurt, fruit and granola in addition to the cheese and cold cuts. Marta graciously delivers cappuccino, espresso, tea, coffee to your table. All the rooms are finished with an attention to detail and a clean, modern aesthetic. The bathroom reflected the same modern finishings and the attention to detail of the housekeeping staff was very evident - the room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. The setting, finishings and quality of this place were great and we were very pleased with our entire stay. Although portions of trail 2 are closed due to landslides, there are dozens of other hikes to do in the area - we did the hike to adjacent Levanto and trail 2 to Vernazza - both were beautiful. We also enjoyed the beach and our great dinners at Miky's. In short, this is a great place to stay if you are looking for a private, tranquil escape. We were off season and I imagine in high season, the privacy and quiet this place affords just 5 minutes from the village main road, would be even more highly prized.||The property is related to El Parco B & B but reflects the recent...
Read moreWe spent three nights in Monteroso al Mare at the il Litorale del Parco and while it was my second trip to Cinque Terre it was the first time staying at a B&B of this caliber. The staff was helpful prior to arrival and helped us with luggage and a cab from the train station. This was critical as you can't walk to the B&B. The B&B is at the top of a hill, a 15 min walk from the beach and well lit/stairs path but not with luggage. ||||We arrived to be greeted by the owner, shown to our rooms and given full info on WIFI, breakfast hours, and general Q&A. The B&B has a lovely garden patio with full panoramic ocean views and lounge style furniture to enjoy the views and relax.||||The rooms are large and spacious for 2, could be tight for 3. We had a sofa, closet, shelf space nook separate from our room for luggage and changing space. The bed was comfy, AC strong, shower and sink area were small Euro size but comfy. ||||WIFI was strong and free. Breakfast was served in a lovely greenhouse like cafe on top of a hill and with breathtaking panoramic views. Delicious coffee, lattes, fruits, breads, cheese, eggs, etc was offered each morning with a slight change each day. ||||A short walk, maybe 10 min brisk or 15 min leisurely to the beach and town. The path winds down paved stairs through the neighborhood and often running into locals who chat with you and make you feel welcome. On the property it is gated and has a boundary of olive trees - very Italian!||||The stay was beyond perfect and while my next visit might not be to Monterosso and I'd stay in Vernazza next, I will always highly recommend this B&B to any traveler. My sister and I loved it - so I would say it is great for friends, couples or families - but not for people with young ones in strollers unless you want to cab it up and...
Read moreSuperb. We both had a wonderful time and Marta couldn't have been more helpful. The setting, accommodation and facilities were excellent and even though we were a short distance from the popular beach, it was so tranquil and relaxing.||We chose to stay in Monterosso for the beach access. It has a vast beach which predominantly comes at a cost to use, this is about €30 per day. There are small segments of free public beach but are clearly popular so you will have to get there early. ||We only ventured no further through Cinque Terre than Vernazza on our stay. As mentioned by many others it is quite an arduous walk that is both very popular and congested. Also, it does come at a charge to use also. We decided to use the train at a cost of €10pp and only takes 3mins.||We also used the public transport to arrive at Monterosso from Genoa airport. It was a simple hop on to the Velobus from outside the airport to either Principe or Brignole train stations where the trains run frequently to Monterosso. Our research prior to the holiday showed that a train was far cheaper and quicker than road transport. ||Il Parco provides an efficient shuttle service to and from the the bus stop opposite the Ristorante Miky. The shuttles start bringing guests back from the beach every hour from 3.15pm until 11.15pm, although it can be walked using the stairs on the hilly Via Padre Semeria.||Although I haven't experienced anywhere else to stay in Monterosso, I think you'd struggle to find anywhere better than Il Parco. It is a...
