Maison Toledo 210 — Hotel in Naples

My husband and I stayed at Maison Toledo 210 for three nights in June 2017 to celebrate his 50th birthday. We wanted to have a good look around Naples rather than visiting for the day.||||Maison Toledo 210 is in a great location, right in the heart of the area that we, as tourists, wanted to explore. Right on Via Toledo, 5 minutes walk to the port for boats to Capri, Ischia and Procida, 2 minutes walk to Piazza Plebiscito, 5 minutes walk to Toledo underground station.||||There are only three rooms at the B&B so it felt cosy and homely whilst still feeling like we were staying in a charming Neapolitan property. Our room was really large, had it's own lobby and en suite. It had lovely views into the Galleria and a tiled floor. It was so peaceful at night and the mattress was super comfy. All areas were kept very clean and we had an abundance of white fluffy towels! Breakfast is not vast but is adequate and the cakes and pastries were delicious. The B&B has a small terrace off the dining room so you can sit and chill out after a hectic day of site seeing. Staff were very friendly and helpful.||||We loved Naples, the locals were very friendly and we never felt unsafe. There is so much to see we only felt like we scratched the surface. As you'd expect, the city is full of great ristorante to try out. We will definitely return in the future and it will be a joy to return to...

The Good: Welcoming staff, lots of light, spacious room (we had the suite), really good location, fun view of historic mall, good quirky storage space, modern decor, good lighting, coffee and tea making facilities, in room safe, pleasant terrace outside room with espresso machine and seating, good mirrors, nice towels and linens, comfy bed, shower pressure good. All things one would expect in this price range. ||||The Bad: the room doesn't get enough fresh air. All windows look into the gallery and there is a feeling of stale air. ||On check out we were unable to leave our luggage as we had not previously arranged it. The Dominican cleaning lady was extremely friendly and helpful but in the end we had to take our luggage with us. ||||The Ugly: the en suite bathroom is just 2 thin cardboard walls and one glass door with no ceiling close to the bed affording little privacy. You can hear (and smell!) anything (groaning boiler) and if you turn the light on at night you light up the whole room. In this box there is no room for a basin so a teeny weeny basin stands on the outside wall near the bed. When you have a shower you have to remember to bring toiletries in from outside as there is no space for anything inside. The suite has a huge living area so why not make a decent bathroom there? I do not consider this an adequate bathroom in this price...
