We would give Casamare 100 stars if we could! This family-run B&B is the best accomodation experience we have ever had. If you have stumbled upon Casamare and are reading this review, stop looking and book Casmare (do not book anywhere else - that would be a mistake).
Our highlights: Ada and her son Francesco have shown us outstanding hospitallity, even giving us a lift to and from the airport, on their way to fetch family. The location is within the old town in Polignano, with surrounding cobblestone streets teamed with vibrant shops, restaurants, gelato and snack spots and cliffside viewpoints. Casamare is also only a 2 minute walk from the main Lama Monachile beach, and also a 2 minute walk from multiple vespa and car rentals. Perfect location in total. There is a shared terrace on which we watched sunset every night, with spectacular views. The breakfasts included turned out to be the best meals we had in Polignano (we know that sounds funny, but it's true). The room we stayed in ("The Vault") had a wonderfully comfortable bed, the airconditioning worked very well, the private balcony was cute with 2 chairs and a small table. The bathroom was small but perfect for 2 people, and the shower pressure and hot water were great! There was a minifridge and TV in the room too! To top it all off, our room was cleaned every day, and we were provided with new towels every day.
We have absolutely nothing bad to say about Casamare, it was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip. If we come back to Polignano, we would stay here every time.
Thank you Ada...
Read moreWe arrived by train from Bari and Casamare provided us with a rickshaw service to bring us from the train station to the doors of a gorgeous house in the middle of the picturesque old town of Polignano a Mare.||||Our room was below the roof and tastefully furnished and decorated. It's equipped with a tv (which we never used though) a brand new AC unit and everything else you need. The rooms are rather small and maybe not geared towards couples travelling with two big suitcases. But limited space is just a matter of fact in European old towns. If you want spacious rooms in such an environment you are usually looking at 3-10 times the price of Casamare.||||Casamare's biggest asset though is the host Ada. As soon as we've arrived she took a lot of time explaining where everything in town was, how we could get to the beach, what places to go for lunch or dinner, etc. etc. ||||Every morning she prepares breakfast for her guests on the rooftop terrace/eating area. She provides fresh brewed coffee, freshly prepared friselle, musli, fresh fruit, homemade cakes, almond cookies.. and don't you dare say you don't feel like eating that piece of cake.. you will eat that cake. Ada won't have none of that no-cake-eating-business .. it's very enjoyable and full-filling experience.||||While you are having breakfast on the rooftop terrace you will realise how perfectly Casamare is located. You are basically a stones throw away from the cliffs and the see, just next to the famous Lama Monachile beach.||||Casamare has it all and I'm sure to come back next time...
Read moreThanks Ada & family for a fabulous experience at Casamare. Since the first day, it felt like home. I was introduced to local people and Ada was exceptionally helpful with tips and suggestions to discover the finest restaurants in Polignano, the traditional food, the best gelato place, the local fish market, the tour by boat and walking tour of the town to admire local hidden gems....not the classic spots for tourists. I highly recommend staying at Casamare if you are a solo traveler. I had a chance to meet interesting professional people, to relax and drink a glass of wine on the terrace/rooftop with the amazing view of the water, sunset, or just people watching. The breakfast is delicious with fresh croissants from the bakery, fruit salad, ricotta cheese delivered every morning, coffee and cappuccino. The room was clean and comfortable and the building is one of the popular spots for instagrammers. Can't wait to go back next year to repeat the...
