Booked this hotel in January 2025, paying 1/3 of the full cost. About 10 days before we arrived we received an email with a link for full payment. We contacted the hotel to explain that we were on holiday and hadn’t got access to secure WiFi. There attitude was rude and no matter what we had to pay!|Had constant WhatsApp messages asking when we would arrive there on the first day, when you are paying over £1200 a night I would like the flexibility to arrive when it suits me. |Sent me a pin for the private car park which was very vague. When I phoned for more information I was then told that I had to wait for someone to show me where to go. Why didn’t they mention that?|Shown the room, lovely, couldn’t fault the space or view. No bottle of bubbly that the instagrammers receive!|No window in the bathroom but we did have a VERY NOISY EXTRACTOR FAN! When I mentioned at reception about the noise and waking up my husband if I need to go to the bathroom during the night, I was told that they had replaced the fans in 3 rooms but not ours yet!|Then sat in the room and music was coming through the vents. I again went down to ask why, apparently the workmen put speakers in there! I couldn’t even reply to that. I was told that they could turn the music off but I said it’s fine if that is how it works. The laughable thing was that the music only played in the reception and our room, none on the terrace or in the breakfast room.|Breakfast was nice and staff lovely. But buffet. Whilst in Puglia my husband and I stayed in 4 other places, all cheaper than this hotel, one was £120 a night. All had table service. I thought it was funny that a couple of ladies had everything bought over to them, even the massive bowl of yogurts, maybe they thought they shouldn’t have to go to a buffet table :)|The day before we left we arranged the our luggage would be moved to our car and we could then either meet someone at the car park or they would bring the car to one of the gates to the old city. The morning of departure we requested the pick up at the gate only to be told that wasn’t an option! So car park it was. In the afternoon we had one of their WhatsApp messages stating that we could meet at the gates. Feeling slightly annoyed we left it as we had arranged earlier. Then they messaged us about the time of pick up, stating that it would be too late for our flight. Another piece of misinformation by them.|My husband and I have stayed in hotels ranging from Premier Inns to The Four Seasons on Bora Bora, so we have a pretty good idea of value. This hotel is a rip off. Yes great location but no facilities at all. The bar on the terrace was never open so we would get a beverage from the minibar and walk up the spiral staircase(scary).|I’m still asking myself why did I...
Read moreWe recently stayed five nights at the San Michele Suites and had a wonderful time. The pictures really don’t do justice. The hotel had recently reopened (closed during the winter). April is a great time to visit Puglia - it’s a little cold to go swimming, but the towns are are open and there are no crowds. San Michele Suites is located in the old part of Polignano e Mare - it’s right on a cliff overlooking one of the most famous beaches in Puglia. There are no cars allowed in this part of town, so you need to make your way with luggage by walking (the staff help). Polignano e Mare itself is a great small cliffside town with a lot of restaurants and easy accessabilty to other towns in Puglia. In fact, we used it as our base to visit Monopoli, Alberobello, Cisternino, Matera, and Bari. ||The hotel is very much an ultra boutique property with only a handful of rooms. There is no onsite gym or restaurant, but the property is literally a stone’s throw from everything so you don’t miss it. Breakfast is served in a room off the lobby and is just wonderful. Fresh pastries, juices, coffees, fruit, bread and then anything hot made to order (eggs, pancakes, toasts, etc.). It was probably the best breakfast we had over two weeks in Italy. The housekeeping service is spectacular- the rooms was cleaned twice a day - towels, water, coffee was replenished each time and we had absolutely no complaints. ||Our room overlooked the cliff and was just amazing. We opened our window / door each day to a lovely ocean breeze. The view was out of a postcard. The room was a beach / coastal motif, which was very relaxing. We had plenty of space with a separate sitting area, two tvs, a fridge, coffee maker, etc. I would note that the hotel does have a winding circular staircase, and don’t think they have an elevator. We really didn’t mind as the location was perfect and rooms were great.||Lastly, I would point out the fantastic service we received each day. Despite the small size of the hotel, they helped to arrange everything - advice on sights to see, where to eat, what to do, etc. No request was too great. ||We had a wonderful time at San Michele Suite and hope to...

My recent stay at San Michele Suites in Polignano a Mare was really nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exemplary service that far surpassed expectations. The staff were not only friendly but genuinely warm, making us feel at home from the very beginning.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking, and the stylish design of the suites added an extra layer of luxury to the experience. Every detail has been thought of, blending modern elegance with a touch of local charm. Loved the color scheme of the room. We were lucky to get a rainbow one morning upon waking up (see picture). Just added to the vacation and the beauty of Polignano a mare.
Front desk went above and beyond for every single one of our needs. We had a canceled boat trip one day due to the weather. The girls at the front desk made many phone calls to try to create a great day for us. They did. We went to a beach club (Le Palme) and they even provided us transportation. They’re really amazing.
A special mention goes to the lovely ladies who prepared our breakfast each morning. They were like rays of sunshine, greeting us with big smiles and already knowing how we liked our cappuccinos and eggs. Their personalized touch made every morning a joy and set the tone for the rest of the day.
Try to go up to the rooftop for cocktails at sunset. You won’t be disappointed.
San Michele Suites sets the standard for what a 5-star experience should be. From the impeccable service to the beautiful surroundings, every aspect of our stay was over the top. Highly...
