Let me start by saying this trip was for my honeymoon and given the 5-star hotel rating on various platforms (google/priceline/hotels.com/etc), we chose this place over others.
The room itself was pretty good - very nice finishes and heating/AC worked great. However, we did not have enough hot water for me and my husband to shower and when turning on the sink water, you had to turn it on all the way or the water pressure was too weak to sustain and it would dwindle out.
We also had issues with the people above us being excessively loud - literally jumping, stomping, and dragging furniture to the point we wondered if it was intentional? The first time it happened was the second night there wound 11:30 and it continued for about an hour before I texted the “emergency” number. Nobody ever read, much less responded to, my message. My husband ended up calling the next day when we had the same issue and it seemed to start once I was blow drying my hair. He was then told the unit above us was a permanent resident/owner and was told “so you want me to ask them to be quiet in their own home?” He responded that we were under the impression that we had booked a 5 star luxury suite and didn’t expect to run into this issue, or at the very least, that they’d be able to address is. Overall they were defensive but said they would try to find the owners contact information and reach out. This didn’t give us confidence bc how are you a luxury suite and don’t have contact information or relations either with your neighbors???
Another thing I’d mention is that there is no elevator or real bell service. The woman checking us in helped us with our bags but we were traveling for 3 weeks with 2 carry ons and 2 checked bags and she really was only able to help with one carry on. I’ve never been to a true luxury hotel that 1) didn’t have luggage services and/or 2) didn’t have an elevator. I’ve stayed in 3-star hotels with better luggage/elevator services.
Overall, pretty disappointed considering this was listed as a 5-star accommodation on google/priceline/etc. and simply did not live up to that standard. I will say the location is phenomenal but for the price, it’s likely you can find a hotel with an elevator, luggage...
Read moreHigh quality accommodation in the centre of Rome, booked a taxi pick up and the journey was approx 45 minutes. This is an apartment, not a hotel and the access details are emailed to you in advance, first class comms with the team that service the apartment, and the maid that was on site was exceptional, couldn't do enough to get us settled in. Rooms is finished to a high authentic standard, shiners on the outside of the window blocks light and the double glazing cuts out all nosies from the street, although I liked having the window open to hear the world go by. Not so much a negative, just an opinion for the owners to consider; the table top ironing board was hard work, and there would be ample room to have a full size ironing board in the cupboard. Also the safety deposit box is on the small side, struggled to fit in two iPads and it was freestanding, would have felt more secure if it had been fixed. Overall a fantastic place to stay, will make sure I book here again, next time...
Read moreHidden gem in the centre of Rome, close (walkable) to most attractions such as Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Circus Maximus & Colosseum. Lots of side streets with restraints and stores. (This is an apartment, not a hotel, but standard of accommodation is exceptional well finished and maintained).||Only thing for the owners to consider is that the inimitable top ironing board is hard work there is room for a full size ironing board in the wardrobe, and the safety deposit box for passports etc is very small and not attached to anything. Other than that this...
