Given the era in which the Pantheon was built, the building is an even more amazing piece of architectural perfection. From the perfect dome to the oculus to the several hundred ton columns built in and shipped from Egypt and then you compound it with the religious and cultural significance it has. The Pantheon is quite possibly my single most favorite Roman attraction!

Rumor has it they intend to start charging an entrance fee for the pantheon next year. Our local guides told us about this site. It was a quick visit as the lines was into the plaza. Take some time to see the Bernini statue of the elephant with the obelisk in the plaza behind the Pantheon.

Pantheon is undoubtedly a perfect marvelous masterpieces of Roman architecture.

The external rear structure looks like a cylindrical dome the porch portico is supported with huge columns and once a temple now turned into church. The Pantheon can be easily reached by walk from city center. Piazza Navona is another nearby attraction to be visited. The Dome interiors is really grand and people do offer prayers inside hence respect and silence is advised to tourists.

The interiors of the dome and the central hole through which the sunlight enters and throws it rays at day is a fascinating thing to see as the rays moves in the direction of the sun light circling the walls. It may be crowded some times and there will be restriction to entry based on the crowd inside.

There ll be touts haggling around do not entertain them. The surrounding ares of the pantheon is quiet touristic ,where bars , cafes restaurants are situated, in front of the pantheon temple there is a obelisk where people sit around on the pedestal platform. I spent about 45 mins to visit pantheon at noon hours, inside the pantheon its cool and there are benches inside where you can sit and admire and enjoy its interiors and architecture. Its a must visit...

Located just in front of the Pantheon, the Fountain of the Pantheon is a hidden gem that adds to the square’s historical charm. This elegant Baroque fountain, designed by the renowned architect Giambattista della Porta in 1575, complements the grandeur of the Pantheon and provides a serene atmosphere in the heart of Rome. The fountain is a circular basin with a central obelisk, which was originally part of the Egyptian collection brought to Rome by Emperor Augustus. The obelisk rises above the fountain, adding an ancient touch to the otherwise Baroque design. Surrounding the basin are sculptural features that evoke classical Roman aesthetics, adding to the fountain’s elegance and timeless appeal. The fountain’s gentle water flow creates a peaceful and calming ambiance, making it the perfect spot to pause and reflect while exploring the bustling Piazza della Rotonda. The combination of the Pantheon’s awe-inspiring architecture and the tranquil sound of the fountain water creates a harmonious atmosphere that captures the essence of Rome. Tips for Visitors: • Take a moment to sit by the fountain and enjoy the peacefulness of the square, especially during early mornings or late evenings when the crowds are smaller. • Don’t forget to admire the fountain’s details while exploring the Pantheon, as it enhances the beauty of the area. • The fountain is surrounded by lively cafes, making it an ideal spot to grab a coffee or gelato and soak in the atmosphere of one of Rome’s most iconic locations. The Fountain of the Pantheon is a perfect complement to the grandeur of the Pantheon itself. Its blend of classical design, tranquil atmosphere, and historical significance makes it a must-see while visiting this stunning...

🇬🇧 In the center of the piazza is a fountain, the Fontana del Pantheon, surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk. The fountain was constructed by Giacomo Della Porta under Pope Gregory XIII in 1575, and the obelisk was added to it in 1711 under Pope Clement XI. The obelisk, originally constructed by Pharaoh Ramses II for the Temple of Ra in Heliopolis, had been brought to Rome in ancient times where it was reused in the Iseum Campense, a shrine to the Egyptian god Isis that stood to the southeast of the Pantheon.
