When we (two diminutive women, two muscular men) walked past the restaurant in question a kindly Italian man barked: âyour table is ready for you!â, as he gestured to an empty seat-for-four. Little did I know what we were in for⊠what a ride! We ordered a pizza, two pasta dishes and a steak. We were off to a great start, the screaming Scottish couple to the left of us⊠aside. A charming waiter sidled up to us and we exchanged whispered words, âshuchran, habbibiâ, the scene was set. Unfortunately, when the steak was delivered on a cartoonish sizzling plate a fake Italian waiter appeared! A performative type. My friend had just started tucking in to his meat (delivered in 5 minutes) when the aforementioned man insisted that a woman take the first bite of meat. I found his comment macho, unsolicited and strange. Is this normal in Italy? Am I supposed to feed my woman a bite of meat at points? This, coupled with his weird, performative (and limited) exclamations in Italian were offensive to us as Italian speakers. I tried to piss on two separate occasions, and once I was pushed aside by an older woman, at which point I endeavoured to hold my bladder until a later point. At the end of the meal the waiter offered us some dry biscuits, limoncello and ball-chocolates, as well as business cards, urging us to leave a positive review. When I left the table for the third time to attempt to drain the weasel (to no avail) he approached the table to say there wasnât a positive review that had been left yet. My advice? Donât go to Rome. Go to Martim Moniz, you...
Read moreCame here coz We were near the Pantheon and this restaurant had a really good ratings..
Definitely DO NOT recommend!
Service was very slow - They took a really long time to come and take our order and also a very long time to bring the food out. And even the food was very mediocre.
Carbonara was too salty. It was also not really smooth; Like as if the egg had started cooking because the pasta and cheese was not mixed quick enough so they were little clumps of cheesy egg on the pasta itself.
Grilled Chicken - decently sized fillets, but they were overcooked a bit too dry. Came with some roasted potatoes on the side which not bad.
Sheep Meat Skewers - Good portion size on this one cuz they were about 10 skewers but the meat was extremely dry and tough to eat.
Hamburger seem to be okay because my sister and brother both hear it. It also did not come with a brand though. When it said hamburger we were expecting some kind of bun but it was just the beef patty.
Artichoke appetizer was quite decent. I like how it was not deep fried and just roasted artichokes on the bread. The combination of the bread and the artichokes was actually quite nice, especially with that olive oil.
Dad ordered a Campagna Spritz which Was extremely bitter. We did expect something bitter but this was a little too bitter. Added some sweetener and honey but that barely made...
Read moreWe just returned from a wonderful experience at this restaurant and we have to say it was truly exceptional! On the fourth day of our trip to Rome, we had the most delicious meal and were impressed by the quality and taste of the food. The portions were generous, and the food was absolutely delicious, which we really appreciated after exploring the city for several days. Moreover, for the quality it offers, the restaurant is truly value for money â an excellent choice for anyone who wants to enjoy fantastic food without paying too much.
The staff was also remarkable: everyone was polite and eager to serve us with the best of smiles. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, creating a warm and friendly environment to enjoy our meal.
And just to clarify: don't let the fact that it's in a touristy area stop you from visiting. Itâs truly worth it and more! Angelo was there to assist us with anything we needed, making us feel right at home.
Weâll definitely return for another wonderful...
