During our recent family trip to Rome, we stumbled upon Gelateria Della Palma, and it quickly became a highlight of our adventure. Located near the Pantheon, this gelateria boasts an astounding selection of over 150 gelato flavors, making the decision-making process both delightful and daunting.
One of the most memorable aspects was the sheer variety of flavors available. From classic options like stracciatella and pistachio to more adventurous choices such as basil and Kit-Kat, there was something to satisfy every palate. My children were particularly thrilled by the vibrant displays and the opportunity to sample unique combinations they had never imagined.
We tried panna cotta, cinnamon roll, dulce de leche mousse, espresso and dragon fruit. Amazing and so tasty.
The ordering process was straightforward: you first pay at the counter, then present their receipt to one of the friendly attendants to select their desired flavors. We were impressed by the range of sizes offered, including a colossal €15 cone that appeared to hold nearly a kilogram of gelato. A tempting challenge for any ice cream enthusiast!!!
Beyond the gelato, Della Palma also features a bakery section, offering an array of pastries and other sweet treats. This addition makes it a versatile spot for anyone with a sweet tooth, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The staff were exceptionally pleasant and patient, even as we took our time making selections. Their warmth added to the overall experience, making us feel welcome and valued as customers.
In summary, Gelateria Della Palma is a must-visit destination for gelato lovers in Rome. We will...

I recently visited this gelato shop and was genuinely impressed by the quality, variety, and the overall experience. It’s not just another touristy gelato place – the flavors here are authentic, natural, and thoughtfully crafted.
🍦 Flavors & Taste:
There’s a wide selection of flavors to choose from – perfect for anyone who loves trying something new. • Choco Mint: Refreshing and perfectly balanced. The mint isn’t too overpowering and pairs beautifully with the smooth chocolate base. • Yogurt: Light, creamy, and slightly tangy – a very clean and natural flavor, not overly sweet like in some places. • Egg Cream (Zabaione or similar): This was the most unique flavor I tried. It had a custard-like richness with a hint of liquor, making it both comforting and intriguing. If you’ve never had this before, definitely give it a try!
All the flavors tasted genuine, without artificial aftertaste, and the texture was silky smooth.
💶 Price & Process: • Moderately priced – great value for the quality. • The process is a bit different from some other places: 👉 First, you choose your cup or cone size and pay at the cashier. 👉 Then, bring your receipt to the counter where you can select your flavors. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially if you’re unsure which flavors to go with.

✅ Final thoughts: If you’re looking for high-quality, flavorful gelato with a natural, creamy texture, this place is absolutely worth a stop. Whether you’re into fruity, milky, or unique traditional flavors, you’ll find something that stands out. I would...
Read moreThis is my absolute favourite gelateria in the world. I have been coming to La Palma since 1999. Every time I go to Rome, it's a mandatory stop for me. Now I understand that there are some that would insist that there are better Italian ice cream shops in the city, and while i lived in Rome I heard - and tried - them all. But La Palma is really something special. Sure, it's nearly always packed and busy - but for good reason! The gelato is delicious: flavourful, creamy, and absolutely delightful. They offer something like 200 flavours which include classics like chocolate or fruit flavours, then novelty flavours like kinder, and sorbet-style flavours as well. My favourite flavour has always been hazelnut, but it's not easy to do well because it's a delicate flavour and if it's not done well it doesn't taste like much. However, La Palma does it so well that I often get an ice cream of two scoops: one of hazelnut and another of hazelnut! The prices are entirely reasonable and in line with the local area, and the location is right in the heart of Rome, just a few feet away from The Pantheon. I really couldn't recommend this place...
