We stayed for 10 days and found this hotel to be exactly what we wanted. Italian charm with a perfect location. It is in a residential building that used to be an old monastery . Reception is actually a couple of floors up. There is an elevator.||||The first room we were offered was too small for us so we were moved the next day with no hesitation. This room was very charming. It was huge with giant windows overlooking the cobbled street. Noise was not an issue but with the windows open it was nice to hear the chatter down below.||||The bed was comfortable and there was a huge wardrobe and a sofa and table.||The bathroom was not great and was not as clean as it could have been. But sometimes you have to accept these things if everything else is right.||||We had breakfast in our room which was delivered on a tray each morning. It was outstanding and included perfect lattes. If you don't want it to be delivered to your room you have to actually leave the building and go up the street to another hotel.||||We walked everywhere, to all the sights and found this location could not be beat. We would definitely return to this well run Italian full of...
Read moreNavona Governo Vecchio has a central location for all the sights. Taxi stands and bus stops are nearby and there is an abundant selection of cafeterias, bars and restaurants right outside. The place was also next to a grocery store. All in all, I will choose this area again for my next Rome trip||||The hotel is in a historic building which is a nice plus if you are into that kind of things. The staff is also friendly and very helpful. In addition, the breakfast on the other building offers some great value for your money and the terrace is especially nice so check it out!||||At the same time, the walls are pretty thin so you hear well if something happens outside your room. This might not be a problem but we woke up almost every morning for multiple noises (cleaning, neighbors leaving, shouting) before 8am. Also, it took a while to get water warm enough in the shower and from the tap. Additionally, the bed was next to the window and the heater was on the other side of the room, so the nights got a bit chilly in December||||Summa summarum: great location and a nice place but the usual problems that come with...
Read moreStayed here two nights. We chose the hotel based on location and prize and the location just off Piazza Navona and the price level for Rome was acceptable. The rooms are quit old and would need some refurbishing. The beds are just awful and very hard. Showers are small and why just have shampoo in small bags instead of real bottles? Service was very friendly and we're very happy with the cleaning. Breakfast has two option, a small continental tray in your room, or walk 500m to a sister hotel for a rooftop breakfast. We walked over to the other hotel and climbed the 6 floors. The breakfast was very mediocre not to call it lousy, but a bigger problem was the attacking seagulls, which the poor lonely breakfast attendant tried to keep off the leftovers. We would most likely choose another hotel option if we return to Rome, but the location was really great with good restaurants and gelatobars just...
