The food here was definitely good. We ordered a diavola pizza and the roasted lamb.
However, and a pretty big one, this is 100% a tourist trap. I would not recommend that you go here for as much as the food was good, it’s not worth it getting out of there feeling like you got scammed.
First of all, we wanted water and they tried to convince us to get a more expensive drink like their spritz. Second, they offered us bread and failed to mention it had an additional cost of 7 euros.
I got served tap water and was charged 2 euros, nowhere else in Europe or the US was I charged for tap water.
I assume they try to make you spend more money because they charge you a 7% tip and of course the bigger the bill the bigger the tip.
Overall, if you want you can go for the food but be very cautious of getting scammed.
Edit to add: Your waiter was the one who said “do you want bread with that?”, they used the word bread and knowingly asked this question in English to a person who didn’t speak English. You shouldn’t be offering things that the customer didn’t ask for if they have a cost, specially when you can’t communicate clearly because of the language barrier. We got served free bread at other restaurants so we didn’t know what this was going to be. If we wanted to pay for a dish or drink then we would’ve asked for it, there’s no need to be pushy with the customer. Also, you didn’t mention anywhere that the tip was negotiable. If the tip is optional then it shouldn’t be...
Read moreWe had a nice lunch here, although experienced some slightly aggressive behaviour from one of the waitresses. We arrived around 13:30 and queued for 30 mins or so for our table, which was no issue. The staff were initially friendly and very kindly adapted the bruschetta to be vegetarian for us, which was much appreciated. We had the spinach & ricotta ravioli (sauce was really delicious) and spaghetti carbonara, which we enjoyed. The issues started when we asked for the bill. We were waiting some time for this, so politely asked for it in Italian, but 20 mins later there was still no sign of the bill & we wanted to get on with our day. Our waitress walked past making eye contact with us, so we said “excuse me” in Italian. She literally angrily shouted something at us as she walked past, then proceeded to actively ignore us for a very long time. We ended up asking another waitress for the bill. Then as we left we encountered our original waitress and stepped aside to let her past. She angrily muttered something and rolled her eyes at us. I really don’t know what we did to make her so mad at us, particularly as originally she was very polite. It was not a very nice experience and now we do not want to return. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident as doesn’t seem like this has happened to others. Still not something I have ever experienced before and we found this quite...
Read moreHonestly go to this place! So I was looking for places to eat in Rome on tiktok and this place came up. There was a cue but it only was a 30 minute wait and defiantly worth it in my opinion! It’s also next to the famous tiramisu place which helps for desert after 😂. Once sat down The atmosphere and vibe is great and really comfortable, not too dressy uppy or causal and you are not rushed at all choosing what to get and when eating. Me and my friends got the carbonara, fried squid rings and cheesy wedges with cocktails on the side and it was all so good! The carbonara was one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m really into my carbonara as I try to have one from every country I visit 😂. Prices are really good and reasonable I thought. Our waiter was Andrea who was so lovely and made us feel so welcomed as if he is your friend already, he made us laugh and provided 5 star service throughout the night. Got free sweets and drinking shots at the end of the meal which was lovely I thought as a little touch. I don’t usually do reviews as I’m lazy and not fussed about doing them but I thought I had to for this place as it’s probs one of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant sitting in and when or if I go to Rome again I will defo return to this place to grab a bite. Thank you again Andrea, sincerely the four...
