THE APPUNTAMENTO — Restaurant in Rome

I was wandering around, hungry, but thinking to have dinner at home instead of eating out. I changed my mind when I passed by and saw the decor here! It was so cool, beautiful, and comfortable that I had to give it a try. The staff was incredibly friendly and, since it wasn't very busy, let me pick my favorite table. They quickly delivered some bread and oil so I could snack before ordering. I chose the octopus with wok veg and sweet potatoes for dinner at my server's suggestion and I couldn't have been more pleased! Not only was the plating stunning, but the textures and flavors of the dish were perfect. I'd never considered having cottage cheese with wok veg, but the combination was perfect. I didn't get to the focaccia until after dinner, but it was a real treat!! I told the waiter how much I enjoyed dinner and asked about the bread specifically. He told the chef, who wrote down his recipe for me!! We chatted for a bit, and by the end of my time here I was so grateful I was nearly in tears! Honestly, the interior design is truly beautiful and colourful and provides a modern atmosphere. We had lunch, and the menu is quite limited for lunch I would say, and my friend and I had the burger with fries.

The price for the portion was 20€, which for a restaurant in Prati area, is quite usual, but the fries felt frozen and the burger was average, of course all this compared to the price we paid for.

A bottle of lemonade and a can of coke were 5 € each. I would probably come back for the decor, but not for the price-quality ratio.

We got filtered water that we were even charged for, even though the EU regulation clearly states that filtered water, not the bottled one, should be offered for free. I obviously checked in the menu, and they state that they charge you 2.5€ for that, but still…

The service was however very attentive with us and the waiters made sure multiple times that we were alright. As my friend said, one more tik tok...

Esperienza a dir poco spiacevole!

Seguo The Appuntamento sui social da quando hanno aperto e non vedevo l'ora di festeggiare il mio compleanno qui, sperando che non fosse il solito locale bello solo sui social e deludente nella realtà. Purtroppo, è stato esattamente così.

Il locale è ben arredato, senza dubbio, ma lo staff e la proprietà non sembrano saper gestire la clientela. Ecco le problematiche che ho riscontrato:

Sono arrivata in anticipo e ho aspettato almeno dieci minuti senza che nessuno venisse a chiedere se avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. La presunta responsabile è venuta da noi appena uscita dal bagno, con le sue scarpe in una mano, e i vestiti nell’altra (evidentemente si era appena cambiata per il turno) dicendoci che ci avrebbe fatto accomodare al tavolo, che però non era ancora pronto. Ci hanno apparecchiato mentre eravamo già seduti. Ho prenotato per 13 persone, concordando un menù colazione a 20€ a persona, più 3€ a persona per il taglio torta. Il giorno dell'evento, tre persone hanno disdetto e l'ho comunicato subito appena arrivata. Abbiamo chiesto delle spremute d'arancia e ci è stato risposto che non erano disponibili, sospetto per mancanza di arance. Successivamente, abbiamo scoperto che le spremute non erano comprese nel contratto, che includeva solo caffetteria, succhi e centrifughe. Durante tutta la colazione, la responsabile ha risposto in malo modo e alzato la voce a un altro cameriere, mettendoci a disagio. Una mia invitata, INTOLLERANTE al lattosio, ha chiesto delle semplici fette di pane con sopra due uova. Prima le è stato chiesto se non le piacesse semplicemente il formaggio o se fosse veramente intollerante e poi le hanno portato un piatto con pane al burro, suggerendole di mangiare solo ciò che si trovava sopra il pane perché lei aveva capito che non le piacesse il formaggio. Alla cassa mi è stato detto che dovevo pagare per le persone che non erano venute, in quanto scritto nel contratto, e anche per quella che aveva mangiato solo delle uova con prosciutto. Trovo eccessivo pagare per le persone mancanti, visto che da 13 siamo passati a 10 e stavo pagando 300€ per una colazione. Mi aspettavo almeno che il taglio torta non fosse addebitato per le persone mancanti.

Quando mi avete risposto via email riguardo al menù, mi aspettavo che fosse chiaro che ogni persona avrebbe avuto un proprio piatto, quindi non ho causato danni con le persone mancanti perché il cibo non era singolo per persona. Ovviamente ho sconsigliato il locale a chiunque me lo abbia chiesto.
