We enjoyed our stay here. We went with my 10 years old daughter, her dad and I as we were celebrating her 10th bday in Rome.
The hotel is very spacious and clean. Very well organised and the staff was trully amazing. We had a good size room with a king size bed and a small one added in 1 side. The bedroom was very clean and spacious. Nice furniture, a fridge that we stocked with our own drinks, a coffee machine with some pods and teas. There is a safe and a big wardrobe, could do with some more hangers. The bathroom was big and clean, it had soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair drier and loads of towels. We had room service every day changing towels and making beds. Breakfast was superb, so many options, like 5 or 6 different juices, a big salad bad with cold and hot food, fruit, cereals, yogurts, so many different breads and cold meats, cheeses, jams , so many different teas and 2 big coffee machine , it was so nice and all delicious, oh ,,,,there was pizza and rolls and sandwiches too, just amazing!!!!!
I went downstairs to let the reception know that the light in our bathroom was being funny, it was playing on and off when we were in there showering, all the time and was quite annoying, the lady said she was going to send someone to fix it as we were out for the day, and she did just that, as we got back that evening it was fixed.
Staff was always friendly, easy to find and speaking different languages too.
To be honest I found the location just perfect, 10 min bus ride to the vatican city and from there we crossed the bridge and walked everywhere, the best way to enjoy a city is walking, Rome is beautiful and we just walked around, visited what we wanted and enjoy food of course. The hotel has supermarkets and shops close by, the bus stop around the corner and restaurants too. To me it was just perfect.
One thing I noticed as we arrived to the hotel is that had loads of flying crews from different companies and we guessed they were spending the night there waiting for their next flight, and then the next morning, very early before 7 am we heard people walking around the corridors on high heels, and that was every day,,,, I am guessing it was the crew staff leaving the hotel for their early flights,

Pros:
The location is quite good, lots of restaurants and grocery nearby. Vatican City is easily walked to, however Rome center (Colosseum, Pantheon, etc) is quite far. I still walked to Colosseum once but it was quite a trek so I took the bus back. It is also not a sketchy part of the city, you will feel safe walking around. There is also a huge park a short walk away.
The fitness center was also a big plus. I worked out twice there. It is simple, just light weights and a treadmill, but much appreciated, especially for Italy where hotel gyms are more rare. Also the A/C in there is very good, unlike the rest of the hotel (read below).
The pool was decent and quite deep, however I had expected a nicer area around it and better chairs.
Service was acceptable but nothing extraordinary.
Cons:
For a "4 star" hotel, it is quite dated and could use some work (especially the outside). Room was smaller than expected, TV was mediocre quality, there was very limited channels, especially in English (only one channel, Africa News). The room smelled a bit musty as well.
The drain plug in the tub got stuck and was very hard to get out. Once I could not get it at all so I left the tub full and room cleaning attendants fixed it while I was out in the city.
My main disappointment though, was the lack of air conditioning at night and lack of control over it. You can adjust the A/C in the room up to 3 degrees off of what the hotel decides, and they turn the A/C off at night which I find ridiculous. It was upwards of 26 C around 2am because they turn the A/C off for the WHOLE HOTEL at night. Personally, at night is when I want to be the coldest... I wasn't quite overheated but when I woke up I was uncomfortable. To be fair, when the A/C was on it was acceptable. In the afternoon heat the room would be at 22.5 C which was okay. I would have preferred to be able to bring it down to 20 or lower though as you can in most American hotels.
I did not try the breakfast or eat at the restaurant but they...
Read moreAs someone who’s in the hospitality/travel industry; I will give my honest opinion about this property. The property has such potential however, it’s disappointing to observe the lack of attention to minor details, cleanliness and service. The exterior and the reception are beautiful and well lit to create a beautiful ambience. The service is extremely lacking and the employees that I interacted with were indifferent and borderline rude to the point that you could hear them laughing as you walked away from the desk. The restaurant employees are no better and they seem overwhelmed and flustered; I observed them arguing with a guest. The food in the restaurant is really mediocre and we had to dine out after dining there three times; breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have unfortunately forgotten the name of one waiter who was more pleasant and went out of his way to anticipate my needs and provide good service. The rooms were such a disappointment and looked dirty. I have stayed in countless hotels all over the world and I can confidently say that this is the most unhygienic. I couldn’t dare walk without slippers in the room; the bathroom had unbelievably easily cleanable black mold and mildew. I don’t think they clean the tiles because I took an ear bud and the mold easily came off. I have attached photos; this is extremely unacceptable even after requesting thorough cleaning of the room. The room looked dated and in need of serious maintenance. In my opinion, I think the renovated clean rooms are saved for the tour guests who seem to make up a large percentage of their target market; however, this is just speculation. In good conscience, I can’t recommend this hotel but if they could address a few important issues, they have...
