We stayed at Residenza del Cedro for 4 nights during our visit to Roma and would definitely recommend it to other guests. Its location is fantastic: very nice quiet street in the heart of Trastevere, so charming that I couldn’t stop myself from taking its photos again and again. Just two minutes walking - and you find yourself in a busy Trastevere, full of cozy restaurants, small shops, fruit markets etc. There’s no metro stations nearby but you can easily reach practically all Roma sights by walking. During our 4 days in Roma we never used any means of transport (except arrival and departure of cause) and managed to visit all Roma, from Roma forums and Colosseo to St Peter cathedral and Villa Borghese by walking. In the neighborhood there are several supermarkets, where you can find all you need ( we liked Panella and Conad). |The apartment is very nice, equipped with a small kitchenette ( a fridge, a microwave oven, a cooking stove, all main kitchenware, free salt, sugar, oil and balsamic vinegar). The bed is very comfortable, with good linen. The only minor minus was dust on the towel rail but it was easily fixable). Giuseppe, the owner of the apartment, is very nice and helpful ( and he speaks a perfect English, which makes things much easier))). He met us on arrival, showed the apartment, provided a Roma map and recommended good places to have dinner. Following his recommendations we went to La Botticella and Mr.Clood and we liked them very much. Giuseppe is always available on WhatsApp and was so kind to order a taxi for us to the airport. The fixed price for the taxi is 48 euros. Also, Giuseppe allowed us to keep the apartment until 15-30 ( the time of our departure). If ever in Roma again I would definitely stay at...
Read moreWe chose this small hotel primarily on the basis of location, and were happy to find that Residenza del Cedro exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and quality of stay. Our room was airy and clean and had all the amenities we needed. The fixtures and furnishings were in good condition. We did not use the kitchenette for cooking, but it was great to have plates, silverware, etc. for snacks. The WiFi was excellent, with a router in our room.|We communicated with our hosts mostly through email. Giuseppe met us when we checked in, but otherwise we didn't see anyone at the front desk. Via email, though, Jenny gave us plenty of useful info, including bus directions from the train station—much appreciated.|The building is a charming old Roman house. We loved the tromp l'oeil murals in the lobby. Residenza del Cedro is just a five-minute walk from a variety of restaurants, bars, and gelaterias, but it's on the quiet end of Vicolo del Cedro. We really enjoyed being able to escape the Trastevere crowds each time we neared the hotel. (Not sure if this would still be true in warmer months.) Be sure to climb the hill to visit the gorgeous Fontana dell'Acqua Paola and to watch the sunset from the piazza around the...

Trastevere is an amazing place to be - it's authentic, romantic, full of great bars and restaurants in little side streets, with lots of locals creating a great atmosphere. My partner and I walked through all areas of Rome, from the historic center to the posh, expensive hotel areas and we both agreed without hesitation that our apartment in Trastevere was the best place to be. We were so pleased that we booked this place, if we had booked one of the hundreds of hotels in the city we would of had a completely different experience surrounded by tourists in the hustle and bustle of the city. ||The penthouse itself was charming, full of character, clean, comfortable and truly outstanding which made our stay in Rome unforgettable. The hot tub was also perfect, and kept it's heat up to 40 degrees! Great on a cold winter night in January. If you are in doubt and struggling to decide where to stay - trust me, this...
