This is the best, most friendliest restaurant I have ever been to. Me and my mom got this recommendation from our host at our stay and since it has a personal connection to us we decided to go.
The girl serving us, named Yash, was so friendly and put character into her service. We got seated immediatly in a nice and cozy area. We never felt pressured or uncomfortable and she was the sweetest server ever. She always made sure everything was alright, took pictures for us and kept a lovely smile and vibe throughout our meal.
We got asked for water instantly, got asked if we have allergies, got personal recommendations, the whole package. The food came to us at a reasonable time and was fresh! I ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara and my mom the Tonnarelli alla Gricia. I personally am a Carbonara lover and this was by far the best I got to enjoy. Sauce was nice and creamy, not to soggy, the meat tasted very fresh, nicely seasoned. I truly enjoyed my meal. My mom as well! We then decided on a desert - after talking with Yash of the portion size - which was the Pannacota with Strawberries. That was delicious!
It was truly a lovely experience and we are so happy to have eaten there. Anytime we know someone will come to Rome this is our Nr. 1...
Read moreLet’s be for real here. This place is a loud tourist trap and the food is MID at best. I ordered a salad and it came with literal canned tuna and canned corn. Comically average cuisine. We were so disappointed that we ended up there and wasted a Roma dinner evening there. The neighborhood is buzzing, yes - the restaurant itself was sooo loud. We had to ask to have the music turned down. Service painfully slow- water and cocktails took 15-20 min. The service was aggressive and unpleasant. The waiter insisted she gave us sparkling water but it was flat. She then said “ok maybe we give you a flat by mistake a ok”. No apology. They were understaffed and all had a very brisk rushed energy about it. Pasta was so average and mediocre. We ate downstairs and it was a stone tavern atmosphere so that was the “coolest part” I suppose. But as an American foodie this place is not itttttt. Avoid. Don’t eat here. Eat elsewhere. We loved the fried artichokes at Taverna del Ghetto today and may go back for dinner tonight. Mimì & Cocos was sheer disappointment...
Read moreAn absolute gem! Antonio and all of the waiters there are truly passionate and they make this place amazing! The atmosphere they create is truly amazing and when someone asks us how was Rome we talk about this restaurant! Antonio made us feel very special as we celebrated our 10-year anniversary! Antonio and his staff went the extra mile to make it special for us! We came back on our last night just to make sure we ate their amazing truly Italian food before heading home. You must try the carbonara or pasta with meatballs! Parmigiana was also truly dreamy. They accommodated us even when it was late in the night so we were so appreciative. After being in this restaurant, we had a hard time enjoying eating elsewhere when we were seeing different parts of the city as nothing compared to Mimi & Coco Trast! The restaurant itself is very cosy and cute, the location is in the heart of Trastevere and a must-visit when in Rome! We will definitely be back at Mimi when back in Rome
