Prosciutteria Cantina dei Papi - Trastevere — Restaurant in Rome

Hi, I just wanted to leave this review so that other people don't have the same problem and also so that the manager of the store can teach his employees to treat his clientele better and not make them pay for mistakes made by the employees. My partner and I ordered the regular tagliere and the porchetta e pomodori secchi for dinner. But, when it was time to pay they charged us first and gave us the ticket later, when we saw the ticket we saw that they charged us for the tagliere gourmet (which is more expensive) instead of the tagliere nomal. When we went to complain about the mistake and asked them to rectify what we had been charged, the girl told us that her partner who prepares the dishes had made a mistake and served us the gourmet tagliere. They refuse to rectify and refund us the difference due to their mistake, not ours. We do not know what the normal tagliere and the gourmet tagliere look like, so we do not know for sure if we have eaten the gourmet or the normal one. Also to mention that in the middle of our dinner, they made us get up from our table and sit at another table, to put a group of diners at our table. So if you are reading this review, make sure you get the ticket before you pay for your bill, because if there is any mistake they will not give you your money back. And if the owner is reading this review, just tell him to teach his employees to treat customers better and to own up to the mistakes they make and not make the customers pay for...

I visited this place with my friends yesterday. It was highly recommended by the owner of the apartment where we stayed, just next door. It seemed to be very nice place with fancy food, a place where you really wanted to spend your evening over a glass of a good wine and fine assortment of cheese and prosciutto.

Unfortunately, I have to give it a very poor review. It seems this place is very spoilt by good reviews and the fact that most of the visitors are tourists.

We got a table after approx 15 minutes waiting. A bartender wasn't rude but far from hospitable all the time! We asked him to recommend a good wine, no feedback... We paid 40 EUR for tagliere medio for 4 people which was not appropriate. Much smaller size in comparison to plate for 2 people. After this we asked to prepare a plate of just prosciutto and cheese and he refused with explantation that menu is only possible.

At the end we asked for a bill and he counted 5 EUR more and put extra money as a tip on top of it without asking. Just smiling....well we had two bottles of wine but were fully aware of what was happening.

Even though food was nice, service was rude and not hospitable. We will never ever come again just for...

It's a very cute and quaint place to have a snack, sandwich or charcuterie board. I a hard time ordering two glasses of wine by the glass. We were left with only one choice and no price per glass was said. The menu shows almost two dozen types of wine per glass so I was surprised that there was only one open. We ordered the gourmet board for 2 and a tricolore salad. The meat and cheese selection was good but there could have been more fruit slices and breadsticks or bread to go with it. Also no honey came with it. Perhaps the cheese that was chosen didn't go with it. The salad was basic but tasted good. The atmosphere was great and the music was good. We would have preferred Italian songs or at least of mix of Italians and others. It didn't damper or change anything just...
