Hotel Schmung — Hotel in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

My sister and I felt so blessed to get to get to stay at Hotel Schmung in Alpert’s di Siusi!! We were greeted quite warmly by Helga whom I had spoken to prior to arrival. After explanation we were taken to our room which was just heavenly! We felt like queens! The room was so clean and beautifully decorated and had a balcony with a spectacular view of Mt. Schlern. We could hear and see the cows and their bells in the pasture just across the street. The cable car glide right in front of you. We enjoyed a fabulous cappuccino in the morning out there! ||We made it there in time for dinner which was just amazing!! We loved having a taste of German and Italian food. They assign you a table where you will sit for breakfast and dinners while there. First a salad bar, then an appetizer pasta, then a soup, a full meal and a dessert! All delicious! The day we left we asked for a packed lunch and it was perfect too- mini sandwiches and apples. ||The second night, because the hotel was full we had to move to another room. We knew this ahead of time and they were so kind to move our bags for us so we could get out and enjoy hiking in the beautiful weather! The second room was an attic room. Clean with comfortable bed. Just know if you stay in this room it is cramped and you need to just go right to sleep - perfect for us since we hiked 8 miles. The roof slants too - hard for even 5’2 me 😜||A shout out for Maria who helped us with planning our home and also found some info for us that we requested! This hotel is an absolute dream! It's located in such a pristine town/village. You can walk to the gondola or rental bikes, hiking, whatever your desire for outdoor activity is. They have lots of glass in the lobby and adjoining bar to enjoy the flower boxes in the window and the gorgeous green pastures and hills across the street. The property is kept sparkling clean as well as the rooms. The rooms are very quiet and we booked the junior suite with a balcony so we were fortunate enough to enjoy the cows bells across the street. The dining room where breakfast is served is very relaxing with visually pleasing meals. The dinners were very good and they did not bad at all in accommodating gluten free. The breakfast is one of the best we've had. The variety of meats and bakery items should have something for everyone. The staff is very helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Would like to have had at least one English channel on the TV, but they pretty much just have Italian and German stations. Definitely not a deal breaker!||We really hope to return for another visit and would highly recommend...

Ogni Natale trascorriamo le vacanze all'Alpe di Siusi, di solito in un hotel diverso, quest'anno, abbiamo deciso di provare questo hotel che ci aveva già ospitato qualche estate fa. ||L'hotel è carino, offre servizi migliori rispetto ad un 3 stelle classico, ad esempio la spa, seppur piccola, ha tutti confort necessari. L'idromassaggio esterno è molto bello e ha una vista impagabile, peccato per la temperatura dell'acqua troppo bassa.||||Per chi scia, gli impianti sono abbastanza accessibili ma non comodissimi, il prezzo comunque è basso e giustifica la poca praticità.||||L'accesso alla cena è dalle 18.30 alle 19, un orario non molto tipico per noi italiani, anche perchè un'ora dopo la cena è finita e non ci sono particolari diversivi per il dopo cena, se non sfondarsi di drink nel piccolo bar dell'hotel. Alle 18.30 normalmente il ristorante è pieno e andando alle 19 spesso il buffet è scarno e i piatti extra rispetto alle insalate finiscono e non vengono rimpiazzati. La carta dei vini è buona, anche se i prezzi applicati risultano piuttosto elevati. Pagare 4,90 € per una bottiglia di acqua gassata, ad esempio, sembra decisamente eccessivo. Il servizio, inoltre, è fin troppo orientato al consumo: il personale di sala riempie bicchieri con una solerzia che talvolta risulta invadente. È piacevole essere serviti, ma ciascuno ha i suoi tempi e modi per apprezzare un buon vino.||||Le camere, invece, sono spartane e un po’ datate. Nonostante avessimo prenotato una junior suite con due letti separati, al nostro arrivo la stanza non era pronta: il secondo ospite ha dovuto dormire su un divano letto, decisamente non all’altezza delle aspettative.||||Un capitolo a parte merita il trattamento riservato agli animali. L’hotel accetta i cani con un supplemento di 27 € al giorno. Chi viaggia con un cane di piccola taglia, come nel nostro caso, si aspetta non solo un’accoglienza calorosa, ma anche una certa tolleranza, considerando il costo non indifferente. Purtroppo, non è stato così: quando il nostro cane si è sentito male e ha sporcato, la proprietaria è entrata in camera in modo brusco, rimproverandoci con un secco “mai più”. È stata un’esperienza spiacevole e deludente. Con un costo giornaliero così alto, ci saremmo aspettati non solo una pulizia più accurata, ma anche un atteggiamento più comprensivo nei confronti degli animali e delle loro esigenze.
