Booking was fine, but when we arrived the receptionists face was absolutely tripping her. Just zero enthusiasm for her new guests. We asked about some local activities and resources but pointing certain directions was all she could muster. The language barrier was not the cause either. Communication seemed more than adequate.
Broken toilet seat, broken main bedroom lights, broken air-conditioning, flooding shower with cobwebs and pretty bad finishing all round just mede the room really poor overall. No tea and coffee making facilities, no wi-fi password or hotel booklet was to be found in the room either. Just a bare, dark empty place to wash and sleep.
The noise from the road was really bad. The windows kept some of it out but is was really off-putting overall. The breakfast was OK, but nothing hot was available and the dead lobster in the seafood selection tab kinda ruins the experience too.
It's in a brilliant location and being a 3 Starr hotel at the price paid, we were really excited. But first impressions go a long way to an enjoyable experience. It didn't ruin our break, but we didn't want to spent any of our time in the hotel, it's bar or restaurant.
To top it off, we booked it as a "wellness hotel" with a Spa, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and massage therapy. When we arrived, we were told it was not available and had not been so for a year as they had no staff to run it. Their website STILL offers this service as being available. Highly disingenuous and really just unacceptable.
If you want to make the most of your stay in what is a beautiful part of Italy, my advice would be to choose a...
Read moreDuring my stay at this hotel (June 2022) , I had an extremely unpleasant experience which I would consider as the worst I've ever had. The staff was extremely unfriendly and couldn't communicate in any language other than Italian. This made it very challenging for us to communicate and we felt unwelcome. The most dreadful aspect was that we both suffered from food poisoning due to the hotel's poor quality food, which was not fresh and quite repulsive.
The breakfast was also below par. There was inadequate cutlery and plates for everyone, and food was scarce. Even if you came early for breakfast (between 9:00 - 9:30 AM ) Despite requesting the staff to replenish the food and drinks multiple times, it took more than an hour before we got anything. Even worse, when we finally received something, it was thrown at us in a careless manner.
In addition, the hygiene in the breakfast area was appalling. There were flies everywhere on the breakfast buffet, which was extremely unappetizing and unsanitary. It was disgusting and unacceptable! We immediately notified the staff, but they didn't seem to care or take any action to address the problem.
Based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone and I wouldn't stay there again even if I were paid to. It was an...
Read moreThere is no doubt this hotel has beautiful views of Lake Garda. The room with balcony and lake view really lovely, clean but quite small. I had emailed the hotel in advance to make them aware I had coeliac disease and requested a gluten free breakfast option. At breakfast I found some gluten free crackers and biscuits and thought that was it. On our third morning feeling a little disappointed with the choice I mentioned it to the waitress who brought out a basket with gluten free rolls and cakes - I immediately regretted not mentioning it sooner as it was so much better! I think they should make it more obvious especially if mentioned in booking. The view from the breakfast room was stunning - a great way to start the day.|The location of the hotel was great - we could walk to the tip of sirmione quite comfortably from here. Sirmione was a beautiful place and the boat trips were a great way of seeing other locations around the Lake.|All in all we had...
