Closed down!||||They sent me a message on the day I was due to check in saying that they are "unable to accommodate me due to technical problems". This makes you think something like a leak or a problem with the heating or something.||||When I went to the hotel it has closed and was a building site, with skips outside etc. All but one of the signs giving the hotel name have been removed, the grounds were locked up and so cannot even get to the building. There were no lights on. They did not answer the telephone. Clearly they must have been closed for some time (that amount of building work was not going to have been one days work), but didn't bother to tell me until the day I am due to arrive. ||||They did offer an alternative, but it was not a hotel as they claimed but a bed and breakfast, it was not near the lake and was much further away from the old town and not on a bus route (I didn't have a car with me). Not comparable. I had to find another hotel. At least I was able to get a refund from booking.com.||||Don't let this place rip you off. I had pre-paid - they must have known well before the day I was due to arrive the hotel would be closed on the date of my stay - so why take the money in the first place? And why wait until the day you are meant to arrive to even bother to tell you (when most alternatives will be full or expensive). Terrible...

Read moreWe stayed at this B&B style hotel for three nights as part of our northern Italy and Tuscany tour. The drive from Venice was straightforward, the hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of free car parking space in its grounds. Check-in was friendly and efficient and we were given a map and some orientation information. There is no lift at the hotel which wasn't any inconvenience at all and the owner carried our luggage up to our room (although we were more than happy to do so ourselves). The room itself was basic but very clean with good storage space, comfortable bed, safe, fridge and good wifi. The bathroom was modern, well appointed and spotless. Internal and external noise was minimal apart from the huge thunderstorm one morning! Breakfast was standard Italian fare but there was plenty of it and it was good quality. The location of the hotel is excellent. The lakeside is a very short walk away and Sirmione old town is a twenty minute walk. Alternatively the shuttle bus stop is very close to the hotel and costs a euro for an advanced ticket. The bus ride takes only a few minutes and it runs regularly. Overall this is a lovely, clean, comfortable and friendly B&B hotel in an excellent location. Highly...
