Trattoria Antica Contrada — Restaurant in Sirmione

My boyfriend and me came here on our last day of vacation. But what we didn't know was that this is not a classical Trattoria. I would consider it as a noble restaurant.

When we came in we were welcomed warmly, but as soon as we took off our jackets that changed. A lot.

We didn't know beforehand, that this would be so pricey and we would feel so uncomfortable the whole time. The waiters seemed to talk about us and made gestures to each other (I suppose about how we were dressed (my boyfriend wore a sweatshirt with lettering upon it and I wore a T-shirt with a small picture of princess Mononoke and her 2 wolves and an Avengers jacket) and that we were only having a main dish and only one side (which was grilled vegdebles... served cold). We felt really uncomfortable the whole time we sat there. We didn't know, that we would have to be dressed less casual.

The meat we had was delicious, but for the rest of the evening I would say, that it was one of the worst experiences I ever had.

There was only one other couple eating there, who were also constantly looking at us.. The price is another story: we had 2 main dishes, 1 side dish, 1 glass of Coca Cola and 1 bottle of water and paid 67€.

We felt so uncomfortable and out of place the whole time. Mind you we were late (it was already 21:30 as we arrived), but after the warm welcome it went bad really really fast.

My boyfriend and I will never come back, because it was a really Bad experience for us and made the last evening of our vacation very stressful...

Very snobby staff! Huge put off! I often travel the world and dine in a verity of different restaurants, but this was a low point for me. We had made reservations for 2 for an early time to have their desert, but when the waiter realized we just want dessert, he got annoyed at us and told us that we are taking up a table! And that we shouldn't come to sit and have dessert! Keeping in mind that the whole restaurant was empty with only one other table and a bunch of reservations, I would have never expected this kind of behavior. Needless to say, regardless of how good the food may have been, we are never...

Ovviamente siamo a Sirmione e la qualità non deve mancare. Qualità e prezzi medio-alti, come è giusto che sia! Riporto la definizione di "Trattoria" in quanto noterete la dicotomia tra "Economicità prezzi - Prezzi Medio Alti". Il locale, per classe e ricercatezza, non è assolutamente una TRATTORIA, anche la clientela non è quella tipica ma il trend è "camicia-giacca-cravatta"! Non voglio farne una causa ma semplicemente un invito al gestore a cambiare la tipologia di locale, altrimenti si attira molta gente in modo ingannevole, farli pagare molto (com'è giusto che sia vista la qualità) e poi ricevere commenti negativi su Google+ o Tripadvisor.

Locale: 10. Locale curatissimo, l'interno di classe, disponibilità anche a pranzare a cenare fuori con rampa a scendere con vista lago. (Aspetto positivo, plusvalore enorme...non da trattoria).

Cucina: amante del pesce ho scelto solamente quest'ultimo. Consiglio il Branzino (il quale si paga 6€ all'etto a persona, contrariamente a quanto riportato nel menù, piccolo "errore" ma per il pesce fresco si paga sempre). Si nota la freschezza dei cibi, infatti ho saputo che hanno un proprio pescatore che lavora per loro...si vede! Cucina: 8.

Prezzi: argomento scottante, dipende dalle tasche. Per me è un RISTORANTE nella norma del lago, perciò voto 6.5.
