Hotel Villa Pagoda Sirmione — Hotel in Sirmione

For starters, we had used an online booking platform that gave you the option to 'pay now', meaning the hotel would take payment prior to arrival. We had been doing this type of booking due to the fact we had been traveling about Italy, with here being our second stop off. On arrival we realised that the hotel HAD NOT taken payment and held it until we got there, dropping it on us like a bomb. False advertising. ||||Our room, well.... Torn pillow cases, dirty walls and bearing in mind that we requested a spacious room with a view we got a box room with no air conditioning and barely any room after our luggage was set down. ||||Every morning we would of had the maid walk on into our room at around 8.30/9am without knocking, we could hear everything going on in the hotel so we wernt able to sleep past 7am and the kitchen sink barely gave us enough water to brush our teeth.||||As it was only three nights we stuck it out otherwise we would be out of there. The woman on the desk dosent speak great English which is a bit of a pain when you are asking for information.||||Furthermore, on leaving we gave back the key and she tried to charge us twice saying that we had not paid. She was arguing with my partner saying that we needed to pay a further €240 until I walked in and argued with her myself until we could actually get her to realise who we wer with the language barrier. ||||The hotel is basically a 2mile walk from sirmione centre which is pretty exhausting when you are constantly walking it. The hotel does not rent bikes etc.||||I would avoid this hotel...

We booked direct with the hotel .. the hotel villa needs an upgrade.. we had a 3 room sort of apartment which should had air conditioning included which it did in the kitchen area only in the bedroom we didn't even have fans. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly and the host told me that it s hot and there is nothing to do but wait for the technician to come the next day. We did and still it wasn't working as it should be. We had to carry the mattress out in the kitchen as in the rooms it was to hot. I understand Italian but the host didn’t now so I understood all the conversation and her rude manner as i asked to leave and find an other hotel. She even told me we can leave if we don't pay the full payment. Its not right for us to sleep on the floor which we could have had a nice hotel with the same price. The morning host was nicer to us. ||||I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as this was our 3rd visit to sirmione and we always had a great hotel. Disappointed big time. The owner didn’t even offer a discount as then we asked for it. ||||The kitchen in the apartment doesn't even have 1 glass and no equipment is offered. ||||Sorry but the is not...
