Just returned from Mirabello Hotel in Sirmione. What a fantastic time we had in Sirmione staying at this wonderful place. The hotel has so many positives, starting with the location. So convenient for access to the airport, main centre and historic sites in the resort. There is a bus stop 2 min outside the hotel giving access to the regular circular bus. We were also directly accessed by the pedestrian footpath which led to the historic centre, just 15 min walk.|The shore is just across the road from the hotel with a lovely beach and a ice cream shop. (we visited it often). The views from the hotel are directly on to the shore line.|The hotel has great facilities, lovely pool with ample sunbeds, a great wee bar, well stocked with alcoholic and soft drinks, ice creams and lollies.|We went half board and were extremely happy with the breakfast , which was fresh, delicious and abundant. Lovely fresh pastries, juices and coffee alongside a range of breakfast goodies. The evening meal was home cooked and served in a chilled relaxed restaurant. We enjoyed a litre of the house red for just 14 euros most evenings.|Our room was extremely clean, serviced on a daily basis, refreshing towels and bedding when needed. We have a breath-taking view from our balcony whish topped the entire experience.|Lastly the staff were magnificent, a family run hotel, they were friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable of the area and ready to give advice and information. Barbara the owner was particularly helpful, there was always someone available to assist. |We will be booking again for next year, we were very impressed and cannot think of any negatives...
Read moreWe have just spent a fantastic week at the hotel Mirabello. The multilingual staff are very friendly. We had 2 spacious rooms next door to each other, one double and one twin. The rooms were very clean, with maid service every day. There is air con and a ceiling fan. The beds were comfortable. A continental breakfast is served from from 8-10am with a great selection of food every day.||||The pool area is lovely, and the pool itself not too deep, you can stand up in it. The hotel is really popular with French and German holiday makers too, but the old stereotype holds true...they get up early to claim their sun lounger by placing their towel on it! That said, we were always able to get a sun lounger later in the day. ||||The hotel is located about 20 mins walk from the beautiful old town. It is a pleasant walk down, but there is also a bus, which we used sometimes. If you want to use the bus turn right out of the hotel and about 5 minutes down the road is the bus stop. Busses are about every 15-20 minutes. If you buy your bus ticket in advance (there’s an automated ticket machine at this bus stop) it will cost 1€ ( has to be used within the half hour). You can buy a ticket on the bus too but that will cost 1€50.||||It is a short ride into town (bus stop 5). Here you will find a ticket office where you can buy bus tickets that can be used at any time. You can also buy tickets here to go further afield. We purchased tickets to nearby Peschiera and Verona from here. Again, it is cheaper than buying on the bus. ||||All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return to the Mirabello if we return...
Read moreThe Hotel Mirabello is a very friendly family run hotel looking out onto the lake, which is just across the road in front of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The breakfast was good with something for everyone. We ate out during the day and evening. The pool was nice and not too busy at all. The rooms were clean, if a bit dated, but that didn't bother us at all. It's in a great location with an easy walk to local shops, and down to the end of the Sirmione peninsula, although we were lazy and caught the shuttle bus down. Tickets for the bus are available in the Tabac shop (Tabaccheria Yang) at a cheaper rate than buying from the machines at bus stops or on the buses. They also sell bus tickets to Desenzano del Garda, Peschiera del Garda and Verona etc. All the ferry rides to other towns are available down in Sirmione. We used them to go to Desenzano and Bardolino. Both are nice to visit, but we thought Sirmione was nicer. We also caught the bus to Peschiera and a train from there to Venice, which did mean getting up very early and back late, but worked out much cheaper than the tour operator excursion, and we had more time in Venice.|The staff in the hotel could not have been more friendly and very helpful when we had questions about the area and buses etc. Thanks for a great and...
