I have been to a lot of (leading) hotels of the world. Usually I do not write reviews about them as you get what you expect. Great quality for a great price, but everything is pretty standard in the sense of a 5-star-hotel. But this stay was different and the main reason is the host - Chiara - and the rest of the staff. Host? Isn´t this a hotel? Yes it is, but it does not feel as one. From the first moment on I felt "at home". Everyone was so gentle and welcoming, but it was not the "perfectly trained" service approach, you could feel it came right from the heart. So it´s a perfect combination of this cozy and - the name fits perfectly - charming interieur and the people taking care of you. On the first morning after a relaxing night I met Chiara in the breakfast room and we talked so long I almost missed the first minutes of my conference... the breakfast was freshly prepared for me etc., here you can add the rest of the typical 5-star-reviews for 5-stars-hotels... I thought about it the whole flight back to Berlin, but I think that has really been the best stay so far in a hotel. And I have been traveling for more than 30 years now... thank you sooo much! It was incredible! I will return as...
Read moreThis is the perfect place to stay in Venice. It's in a quiet corner of Dorsoduro, the most charming and least touristy part of the city, away from the mobs of San Marco or the Rialto but two minutes from the glorious Accademia Gallery. The rooms are free of the tacky glitz of many Venetian hotels, with pleasant, modern design, understated and elegant, with views of a pretty canal or the garden of the Peggy Guggenheim museum. Delicious breakfasts, cooked to order, are served in a lovely small room. Best of all is the staff, a dedicated, kind, and resourceful group of women ready to help in every possible way: special arrangements if requested, outstanding restaurant recommendations (we had the best meal of our visit at one out-of-the-way restaurant they told us about), taxi reservations. Modest but cozy and altogether wonderful. Stay here, as my wife and I did for almost two weeks. You...
Read moreWhat a find|Apartments run by Hotel Bruno. We stayed for 3 nights at Corte Fontana a 2 bed 2 bath apartment. We are 4 adults and the apartment was great. Compact kitchen but has everything, 5-6 seater lounge and tv (but only Italian channels). 2 bedrooms both with king size beds and 2 bathrooms one with a bath. The location is amazing. Quiet neighbourhood half way between St Marks and Rialto a 5 minute walk, (if you don’t get lost but that’s half the fun of Venice) to either. Surrounded by restaurants, shops and a local supermarket that has everything|We were expecting Venice to be expensive but were pleasantly surprised. You pick up your key at hotel Bruno and one of the staff walk you to the apartment. They even offer you to buy breakfast at the hotel which we did and it was fabulous. The staff at he hotel were great and we would stay...
