The food was fresh and tasty. The wait staff was very friendly and put up with my embarrassing attempt to learn/practice Italian. We only ate here once, despite staying at the Hotel American (which we didn't pick for the name, but had an amazing staff/service). It was clean, and had a beautiful calming view on the canal. Listen, you're going to Venice, you're going for the experience. I may have had better meals on this trip, but I didn't feel like I was being ripped off, and I enjoyed my experience. You go to Venice for the experience. This place is close enough to Academica that it's not out of the way, but other than people going to Santa Maria, there isn't much foot traffic in the area. It's peaceful and beautiful. Feels like you're eating in a residential neighbourhood (unlikely). An artist ran her shop across the canal when I went, it just felt quaint. Loved it.

A friend was visiting Venice three years ago were suggesting us this restaurant and it was the best thing in our trip, the first time we got the fish mix appetizer and it’s unbelievable delicious I was in a shock with every bite 🤤🤤I had also red souce pasta with shrimp it was just perfect 🤩 the slow cooked salmon with fantastic oh mama Mia 😍 one side note the staff were extremely friendly and helpful they were offering help the whole time and even if the place was always full everything we ordered came in time.

Whaaaaaat!!!! 7.00€ for a double expresso? Are you guys serious, like for real? Just for comparison, on the Champs Elysées the most expensive street in France, a double expresso in the Nespresso lounge is 6.50€!! I though I had found gold in the bottom of my drink but it was only coffee that went through the filter which gave that bad taste.... Please, reposition yourself regarding the restaurant situation and the quality of service you offering. Stealing has never been a good thing...

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with your customer service and a mistaken charge that was never refunded. We visited this restaurant a year ago. We ordered two meals and two drinks. One of the meals was incorrect, and the waitress brought us a different dish. When I pointed out the mistake, she took the plate without offering any apology and eventually brought the correct order.

When we left the restaurant, we felt the bill was unusually high, but unfortunately, we trusted the staff and didn’t check it on the spot. Later, we realized the incorrect dish had been left on the bill — a meal we never received. We ended up paying for the waitress’s mistake and were never refunded.

Overall, the service was disappointing and gave us the impression that your restaurant — or at least the staff — values money more than customer satisfaction. It’s a shame, because the food was nice, but the experience felt like a tourist trap.

I contacted the restaurant by email. They apologized and invited us to return for a refund. However, as tourists, we had already left Venice. I suggested the refund be processed to the card we paid with, but they said that wasn’t possible and offered a bank transfer instead. I provided all the necessary bank details, but after that, the restaurant stopped responding. All further emails were ignored.

Because of this, I must say that your practices appear dishonest. Customers are being charged for mistakes made by your staff, and while you initially act as if you care, you ultimately keep the money and ignore...

Amazing restaurant in a quiet corner of Venice! Serves both traditional Venisian choices if you are looking for some adventure and traditional "Italian" if you need some comfort food. All pastas are prepared onsite daily and melt in your mouth. Unbelievably delicious! Ask for Nizar, the head waiter from Tunisia, and you will be taken care of. Not only is he focused on pampering patrons, he was clearly quietly building a small squad of service oriented waitstaff. As an example, after a Venisian seafood starter with a plethora of incredible samples, he noticed there were a couple we weren't fond of so he brought out a few special replacements until he was satisfied that we were happy. We were so impressed with the first night there, that we came back for more a 2nd time for some comfort food and what was to be the best pasta dishes we've had to date! Go, ask for Nizar and enjoy!

I read a few of the low-star reviews and I am baffled by the differing experiences. As I explained, we went twice and it was...

The host swore at my back in Italian when I was leaving the restaurant. When I turned around, he just said “Grazie” and “Arrivederci.”

I wasn’t sure what the word meant, as I've never heard it before, so I googled it later and it indeed turns out to be a shortened form of a vulgar expression, and it is meant to address a person. There was no other visitor nearby at the moment but me.

Won’t write the exact word here so this review doesn’t get banned.

It pretty sums up our experience at the restaurant. 70 EUR for two awfully tasting tiny risottos and a bottle of water. But, still, we didn’t complain or say a single negative word to the host or waitstaff. Maybe we didn’t look thrilled, but that’s no excuse to swear (and loudly) at our backs. I’ve never experienced anything like it in a restaurant before.

It’s a shame things like this happen in such a magical city. This restaurant and its staff should be ashamed of the service...
