We went to the Venice store today and were served by an unenthusiastic and nasty employee. Charged 3 euro per tasting as we were not intending on purchasing a whole bottle which. My partner spent 12 x 3 euro all up on tasting alone. She still wasn’t interested in really helping him or chatting about the flavours (easy to tell when someone just wants you to hurry up and leave!) Ended up buying a bottle in the end too, and were asked if we wanted a box (no mention of charge). We initially said no but I thought it may be best to have the bottle protected in the suitcase, so said yes can we please have. Upon paying for the bottle and leaving, we realised we were actually charged for this box 3.50 euro. Not mentioned at all by the staff but added onto the eftpos machine. Decided we would walk back in 2 minutes after leaving and request a return on the box as we were not made aware of this charge when purchasing. The shop attendant replied ‘you paid for it and didn’t mention anything at the time and we cannot refund you as you paid on eftpos’. I replied to the shop attendant that I was not aware of the charge and she looked at me stupidly and said ‘you could have looked at the eftpos machine to see the charge’. What a disgusting response and I told her we didnt even think to look at the small fine print on the eftpos reader. It’s not the money we are concerned about, it’s the deceitful behaviour from the staff that is the concern. And then reluctantly after expressing how unhappy we and arguing with her, she offered ‘another single tasting in lieu of the refund’ - we refused and left. This was an experience my partner had been talking about doing for months, yet we felt like it was a chore for her to assist us throughout the tastings, and also it was impossible to return the tin for a refund despite us not being informed of the extra charge. And even worse as we paid for tastings too, when we probably would have got the tastings for free if we had purchased the bottle first (the shop attendant informed us tastings are free if you get a bottle!). Of course, given we tasted first and then purchased a bottle afterwards, we got none of the tastings we paid for refunded and no extras offered to us. Really should have offered us the box for free given we had to pay for every tasting, the bottle and the box!!!! Left a horrible impression on us and was very...
Read moreMy daughter and her boyfriend had come in here before and were treated to a lovely tasting and history by a woman in the shop. They spent more tha 200 euro on the drinks. We came just to visit the shop and do a tasting and planned to buy a lot, as well. We walked in, and there was a young man working and talking to a group speaking Italian. We were the only people in the very small shop besides the group talking to the man working. We lingered after looking at the products, hoping to a tasting. He never spoke to us or acknowledged us in any way. We left. I went back in and thanked them for their...
Read moreSpecial place with great customer service and the best grappa selection! My husband and I walked past this store while exploring Venice. We decided to stay for a tasting as my husband is a huge fan of grappa. It was well worth it as the selection was top notch. The associate, Jessie, greeted us with a smile and was very welcoming. She was incredibly knowledgeable about each grappa we tasted and the brand itself. We ended up buying a few bottles to take home! We highly recommend a visit if...
