Anchor Hotel Hakata — Hotel in Fukuoka

The hotel was a good combination of close to Hakata station and inexpensive, which appealed to this cheap guy. ||||It's a 5-10 minute walk away from the station, which has all the restaurants and convenience stores you could ever want. It's a bit confusing to get from the station to the hotel, but nothing that I couldn't figure out. Just walk until you see the B Hotel, and you're almost there. It's a very narrow building tucked between two larger ones, so make sure you're watching.||||The breakfast was just okay. Basically there was 3-4 types of bread, jam, butter, and juice/coffee and that was it. I slept in a little on the second day I stayed and wasn't really in a rush to not miss it. ||||The room was fine enough. A little small even for Japanese standards, and my bed creaked mightily if I transferred my weight wrong. But the plugin and light control right beside my bed was a nice touch. There was also a small desk and a small nightstand. Robe and sandals are provided, just like with every Japanese hotel. ||||The bathroom is the usual type in these kinds of places. It reminds you of a cruise ship bathroom, with the plastic on all the walls and the ground. No bidet, which was disappointing. The shower had plenty of hot water. ||||The only other thing I can think of is the elevator reeked like smoke. My room didn't though. ||||Overall, it was a great value for the money....

The english signage of this hotel is facing the wrong way, blink and you'll miss it. It is actually just doors away from b Hotel. We have to ring the hotel several times due we can't find the hotel and we've walked several blocks away before someone came and fetched us.
