Arrived without reservation make. The store manager was kind enough to assign me a seat of 4 pax table.
I was given an hour to consume my meal. The store was 90% full.
Upon sitting down. The waiter give me the wrong menu, it was korean menu.
I had to get the store manager and give me a set of english menu.
The meat quality is no doubt good for the price you are paying. But upon seeing so much customer ruining the meat (the grill and meat on fire), perhaps the servers should step in and help or explain.
I ordered a serving of premium thick beef tongue, 2x servings of beef skirt, 2x servings of beef chunk ribs, 2x suntory high balls, 2x Wagyu Zabuton and a cream cheese potato salad.
I managed to consume all within an hour. Throughout the time i spent in the restaurant, the service was slow.
They had 6 kitchen staff, 5 servers, 1 bartender and a store manager.
The store manager was seen talking to the bartender and senior time most of the time at the cashier counter/bar.
On the 40 mins mark the senior staff approached my table and ask for last order.
The new join girl and the only male server was the most hardworking from my point of view.
When I was footing the bill. The new join girl gave me the bill to sign.
Upon leaving the restaurant. There was no goodbye and thank you being said. No one noticed I left, because some of them were busy chit chatting (when I left the restaurant is half filled).
The reason for 3 stars are the service given to me and the overall feel of the restaurant.
Should I patronize the restaurant again, if I am back in Fukuoka? The answer would be a no, the service is pretty bad for a
Read moreNikuichi was definitely a pleasant surprise for me in Fukuoka. If you search for yakiniku in Fukuoka on Google, it will definitely recommend this place along with 藥院Yakiniku.
Reading the Google reviews, everyone mentioned that you must make a reservation at this yakiniku restaurant; otherwise, it's almost impossible to get a seat. That evening, my wife and I went with a "we'll see" attitude and asked if we could walk in or wait. The lady at the entrance was very kind and asked if we could wait for 90 minutes. Of course, for a visitor, waiting 90 minutes to enjoy Fukuoka's famous charcoal-grilled yakiniku is totally worth it.
There were many Korean people waiting with us that evening. After waiting for 90 minutes, we were finally seated. They gave us a sheet of paper explaining the different cuts of beef. The usual procedure followed, such as ordering drinks. We ordered a yakiniku set and added some beef innards.
Even after finishing everything, we felt it wasn't enough and kept adding more and more beef. By the end, 90 minutes almost wasn't enough for us to eat. If you have the chance to go to Fukuoka, you should definitely try this charcoal-grilled yakiniku, but remember to make a...
Read moreVery popular beef BBQ restuarant. We made a reservation 1 month in advance for 8.30pm Saturday. When we got to the restuarant there was a line of people without reservations patiently waiting. Luckily for us, we had our reservation so at 8.30pm we were shown to our table A relatively small restuarany. Very busy. We ordered their 7 types of beef platter, and sides of beansprouts, vegatables, seaweed soup, and lettuce to start. Order on electronic screen on table. Food came promptly and we cooked the beef on a charcoal grill on our table. Later we added more sides and more beef. They have alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. We spent JPY11,600 for the 2 of is for dinner. We were at the restuarant for 2 hours. We enjoyed our time here. Food is good. Service is good. I did however feel pity for those without reservation waiting patiently in line outside. Some of the people who were already in line when we first arrived at the restuarant were still in the queue waiting when we left 2 hours later. Good food....
