Read moreWe recently stayed at Nozo Hotel for a week in the Junior Suite.
The eco-cleaning policy was explained to us, including a full cleaning on the 4th day. However, even the eco-cleaning, which was supposed to include bathroom cleaning, was not properly done. After cleaning, the mirror and sink were still dirty. When I raised this issue with the staff, I was told that if clothes were around, housekeeping couldn’t touch them—even though my sink was completely empty. Instead of addressing the cleaning issue, the responsibility was placed on the guest, which was disappointing.
We only requested housekeeping twice during our 7-night stay, yet only about 50% of the dirty towels were taken each time.
One serious concern was that during housekeeping, our door was left open and unattended for at least 30 minutes with no one inside. This was a major security issue. However, I appreciate that a staff member came to apologize after I reported it.
Cleanliness was also an issue with the new bed sheets, where I found a short curly hair, raising concerns about hygiene.
As we stayed in a Junior Suite, the largest room in the hotel, it was inconvenient that there was only one box of tissues for the entire suite, which had a separate living, dining, and bedroom area. Additional tissues should be provided for suites of this size.
There was also a metal tray inside the microwave/oven with Japanese writing that says “Not for microwave use,” but there was no warning in English. This could be dangerous for guests who don’t read Japanese.
On a positive note, we loved the kids’ room and appreciated the family-friendly facilities. However, cleanliness in the hotel needs improvement.
Additionally, some guests were entering the onsen without washing beforehand and only showering afterward. The hotel could provide more clear signage or educational materials to ensure proper onsen etiquette.
Overall, we enjoyed some aspects of our stay, but the cleaning standards, security, and communication need...

I think this is a ski hotel in the winter as i saw a ski locker area and there are only 3 floors, 1 elevator, very spacious and open stairwell. Rooms are a bit small but hotel is new and so very clean and pleasurable! I loved the nice expensive Toto toilet that has automatic lid open/close and dryer function
