Leisure Guide Asobiya — Attraction in Furano

Took the 10KM snowmobile. There were 4 other people that joined us and they did tandem. These 4 ladies drove VERY SLOWLY, not even 5km/hr, I wish I am lying but I am not, people. I am not expecting to go for a race, but less than 5km/hr snowmobiling is dull, boring and lame.

And we have to drive behind them. The smell of the diesel hurts my head, and it's COLD.

I wish the guide could be more informative to the other guests or at least let us ride in front of them or separate the groups because we were bored and cold. What should have been a 50minute ride became an almost 2hr ride because of the slow young ladies.

The guide did apologized to my husband (not to me, tho), saying that if it's only us we can go faster, and ask for an understanding. But we paid for the same amount if not more expensive (we took the 340cc snowmobile because we thought we wanted to go bit faster), so why do we have to tolerate other people's lameness for what should have been a fun ride?

But! Other than that, it was fun. I ended up waiting LONG for the slow ladies to go far ahead and then drive my snowmobile so I can go faster. So it was stop, wait long, go, stop, wait long and go. 😅 Gotta...

While the communication to book and pay for a ballooning experience was a bit confusing and frustrating in English, it was well worth the effort to enjoy gliding across snowy lavendar fields on a clear and crisp morning. Although I don't always do well with heights, I did not find it scary at all. The take off was very smooth and gradual.We only reached 800m for a few minutes of our 20-minute flight. The whole appointment takes about 3-hours from 07:00-10:00 which consists of waiting to be picked up from your accommodation; picking other guests up; driving to the site; watching the set up; then the flight and the take down or waiting for other guests to have a flight; and finally driving back to your accommodation. Fun for the family, and beginner friendly. Multiple activities to choose from and we went for the outdoor set to experience a little of everything. Especially enjoyed the snow banana boat! 🎿

A very special thanks to our guide furu-san who followed us from beginning to the end, explaining in great detail to make sure we are safe on the snowmobiles and constantly checking back on us to make sure we are safe and comfy.

A place not to miss to complete your furano winter experience ❄️. Tips: go early, we were one of the first few customers, and when we were leaving there were quite a few groups and might need to wait. They open at 9am.
