Fenix Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Furano

Our family stayed at the Fenix Furano hotel for a week. We had breakfast here every morning and a few lunches and dinners. The breakfast was Japanese style. We are usually not big fan for Asian breakfasts but the breakfast here was surprisingly tasty, fresh and healthy. Lunch is quite simple but a few items like the beaf tendon bowl was so delicious. We would often come down from the ski hill and eat at the restaurnt with our ski boots on since the hotel is so conveniently located by the gondola station. We also reserved a couple of "omasake" dinners here to let the chef show us the best he can offer with Hokkaido local produces. They were truly amazing (tip: reservation required). There’s really no faulting this place on the food. However, it was a bit of a let down when we were reserved on a window counter table for Xmas Eve dinner. It felt cafe like, not fitting of a upper class restaurant. I did not have a chance to really get into a conversation with my family. We would have opted for another table type or headed elsewhere if we had been informed earlier when making reservations. Overall still worthy of ¥1100 per pax average.
