Fenix West — Hotel in Furano

We were VERY impressed with our stay at Fenix West. It exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived.

The rooms are fresh and new. We were in a one bedroom deluxe apartment on the sixth floor. Room had great views down to the main part of Furano Town and surrounding mountain ranges.

The room was well laid out and finished, and included all amenities for a self-sufficient day. While not ‘luxury’ per se all the important things were done well (I.e. fabulous bedding). We were pleasantly surprised that our room had a bath tub. Our only complaint would be that the kitchenette area was slightly too small and lacked bench top space, and the sofa was too small to be comfortable. I inspected the larger premier one bedroom, and would opt for this next time as the extra space makes a huge difference. The onsite ski locker room and drying equipment was much appreciated.

The location is very convenient for those skiing. A 2min walk to the ski lifts. While the other Fenix is closer, we didn’t feel hard done by in any way and actually preferred the smaller more intimate feel of Fenix West.

The property offered complimentary shuttle services throughout the day and evening and this was an absolute game changer! We couldn’t have done without it and it made things very easy.

The staff were always welcoming and helpful with a mix of both Japanese and Western staff. They helped us with everything from restaurant recommendations, to reservations, to suggesting nearby onsens. Thank you!

Love the spacious and warm hotel room, and the view from our hotel room! I found Fenix West in Trip.com and no other platforms, and found it amazingly beautiful and a good deal for the location. We hear that the hotel is more frequently used during winter seasons when guests come by to do snowboarding. Also the reason why the hotel has a storage wardrobe for ski equipments. The room was really spacious with a view of the mountains. I love how spacious the room was, and it is good enough for 2 adult giants. The rooms have balconies too. Because this hotel is catered for winter activities, the hotel room is equipped with 2 heaters; one in the room, one in the toilet - so comfortable and warm. It was pretty cold when we visited in early May but the heating system helped keep us warm all night. I feel like home in this hotel room. No breakfast is provided for our stay but there is a cafe just below the hotel at a reasonable price. The staff at the cafe speak english, and they are very fluent and very friendly! The food were all freshly made and really very yummy. You must have their coffee too. Parking facilities is available on-site too. The disadvantage about this place is that it is very quiet, and the place feels like a quiet town after certain hours due to its low period. I thought of the other Fenix and the station hotels but decided on this because we were staying for 3 nights and the extra space and the availability of a washer dryer in the room was the deal clincher and indeed it is, Ms Fu who checked us in spoke perfect English and slipped into standard mandarin as that is obviously her mother tongue, she offered us housekeeping for those staying 3 nights or more which we declined and got another set of towels instead, inside the room, there's a fully equipped kitchen but no dishwasher but a drying rack, not a problem as we were not going to do any big cooking, two heating panels are provided, one for long apparel and the other for towels, car parking is at the front and beside the hotel, our view is of central Furano, which is beautiful because the property is high up a slope, I suppose the other view which is of the ski slopes would be very...
