We took the train from Tokyo. The trip there was a fun adventure in itself. First the local mountain train with its switchbacks, then the cable car. We walked up the hill on the wrong side of the cable car tracks first so we were happy to get to our room. The room was not fancy but authentic with its tatami mats and sliding walls. We ventured off to visit the rope way at the top of the cable car route. Then we went in the onsen and relaxed before being served a Japanese style meal with many colorful dishes in our own private dining room. The futon beds were surprisingly comfortable, and for us Facebook fiends, there was free wi if and massage chairs in the lobby of our building. The view is amazing. Read moreWe were planning trip to Japan for 10 days and were debating whether to stay in Ryokan for a day. M glad we took this decision and stayed at Kiritani for a day.||||We are Indians and thought we wud have difficulty in conversing with the staff there. . But luckily we met Mr.Odawa and another lady there who understood our language and ensured we have a great stay. MANY Thanks to them for making our stay so comfortable. We r vegetarians and Kiritani ensured tht they prepared full vegetarian dinner as well as bfast for us. The food was quite good and they had quite a lavish spread. ||||The onsen experience was also quite awesome. We also tried the local massage which the hotel arranged for us in our room and that was also quite good. Overall I would say its a must try for an awesome experience and local japanese feel.
