Read moreThis is a truly wonderful inn. The rooms are clean and meticulously maintained. The view overlooking Lake Ashi is open and spectacular. The beds are soft and comfortable, and the amenities are well-prepared. The meals are just the right portion size for someone in my middle age, and you can enjoy them in a calm, private dining space. They even provide a small nighttime snack as a service. You can choose a late breakfast starting at 9:00 AM, allowing for a truly relaxing stay.
The hotel is very quiet, as most of the guests are adults. I highly recommend the rooms with semi-open-air baths. The entire building was renovated about a year ago, and the rooms with baths overlooking Lake Ashi offer an exceptionally relaxing experience.
Since it’s a smaller inn, the communal baths are never overcrowded. For those who are not comfortable with public baths, there are two private baths (if I recall correctly, the time slot is 50 minutes) that can be reserved at the front desk, allowing you to enjoy the hot springs in a private setting.
Traveling by car or taxi is recommended, but if you take a bus or ferry to “Moto-Hakone,” the hotel provides a shuttle service, which is very convenient.
Considering the quality of the inn, the price is very reasonable. While many inns in Hakone charge an astonishing \70,000-\80,000 per night per person, this inn offers a stay at about half the cost, making it an incredible value. I wholeheartedly recommend this inn...
Read moreOur family spent 2 nights in June at this wonderful ryokan. We arrived here after a busy week of touring Tokyo to relax and recharge for the 2nd half of our vacation. Mission accomplished!!! The staff was remarkable and the service provided was first rate. Ito-san was very responsive and promptly answered all of my questions throughout the reservation process via email. We really appreciated being picked up at the bus stop and driven to the ryokan which was a less than 5 minutes away. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff and were seated on the sofa and served green tea and a delightful sweet treat during our check-in. The peaceful and serenity ambience of the ryokan was immediately felt upon entry. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The view of Lake Ashii from the room was amazing. Dinner and breakfast was served in a private room. The food was great and artfully presented. We did not leave hungry for sure. The "midnight snacks" was a nice touch. We made good use of the message chairs and hot spring baths. The experience we had at the ryokan far exceeded my expectations. Thank you Ito-San and staff for your hospitality and making this such a memorable experience!!! We are very much looking forward to...
