We came around 07:30am. There were few people there already. Waited for 5 minutes to get our turn to take pic. Its a part of a shrine.
You dont need to buy a ticket to see the Tori Gate.
A scenic & peaceful place. There’s a notice of “3minutes to take photo” . I think the place can really get crowded. We saw few trashes. Please be mindful when coming as this place is a part of a shrine. ALWAYS TAKE UR TRASH WITH U.
The parking space is about 3mins away. They have a rest area and also toilets. Sadly, the toilet was dirty. Many toilet paper on the floor and some toilet bowl seat has stains that were not wiped off. They have posted the notice in few languages already including English about flashing the toilet paper in the toilet bowl. Please read it properly. In this era where you can have an access to internet easily, you can actually google translate the kanji words. Although its not a perfect English , you can actually understand what the notice/post means.
We, foreigners, should really be mindful and respectful of the places we visits not only in Japan but in...
Read moreThis was one of the most picturesque torii gates I had seen during our time in Japan. Located on the shores of Lake Ashi, the Peace Torii is part of Hakone Shrine and offers absolutely stunning views with the vivid red gate contrasting against the deep blue lake and surrounding green forest. It’s one of those places where you just have to stop and take it all in.
The torii itself is relatively modern, built in 1952 to commemorate peace after World War II, which gives it a powerful and symbolic presence in addition to its visual beauty. There’s something really calming about standing under it with the water gently moving beneath you and Mt Fuji I hear sometimes is visible in the background on a clear day.
There’s a small stone path that leads directly to the base of the gate, where you can get that iconic photo from both behind the torii and also across the lake. It was a bit busy when we visited, but the queue moved quickly and it was worth the wait.
This is a must-visit stop in Hakone. Whether you're coming by cruise or foot, make time to visit this serene and...
Read moreThey should make this paid and place someone to take pictures for the ppl and let them go when its taken. There are signs EVERYWHERE asking for cooperation and not taking more than 3 minutes (which is a lot for a picture) in taking your photo. You are right if you think ppl do whatever the hell they want in order to take the picture, without caring about the others who are also waiting for maybe an hour or more standing. Ppl even approach to the torii in slowmo. I saw a guy placing a tripod (which signs tell is not allowed) to be able to be in the picture with her partner instead of just asking someone... A tripod in an uneven stone path... i mean, there where at least 80 persons there.... It was so outrageous.
And if you are thinking this was in april or may, it was today (november). I don't want to know how this is in spring. We decided to take the picture from a side and leave. Sadly This beautiful torii makes you want to...
